"Drive," he told me. He yelled at the men, "If I see any of your cars following us, I'll shoot her in the head. Do you understand?"

I took one more look at Ethan, who stood in front of the house, unable to help me, before the wave of Dylan's pistol in my face brought me back to reality. I was a hostage.

I started the car and drove away from thehouse, leaving Ethan behind.

"You were in on it the whole time, weren't you?" I broke the silence by asking.

"Shut the fuck up," he yelled angrily. It was no surprise that he was easy to rile up.

"Ethan will find you," I told him, knowing he was upset.

My demeanor had shifted from fear to anger, but I wanted to irritate himand force him to make a mistake.

He shot at Ethan. It came to me, the thought that had made my knuckles white as I gripped the steering wheel of the car as we drove down the road.

Looking in the rearview mirror, I noticed Ethan rush into the driver's seat of a car before his other men, and he pulled onto the road almost immediately.

I need to help Ethan. I need to save myself.

I dared to look at Dylan, trying to seek my way out of this. Seatbelt! I rejoiced when I noticed hewas not wearing one.

I was going to ramus into something hard; it was my only option. Dylan had given me complete control over the car, and it was my only advantage.

Dylan's eyes widened in horror as I happily stepped on the accelerator.
