Then he smiled, handing me back the vibrator. “Even if you just want to call to talk, I’m up for that. And I guarantee, you won’t need that when we do.” He winked, nodding toward my personal pleasure device.
Behind me, I could hear Beau sighing out loud. “Is there anything else? Can I pay so we can leave?”
I turned around and briefly scowled at Beau.
“Like I told you before, there’s no charge for family. Gigi’s family now,” Dr. Barnes said. Then he set up and gave both puppies their booster shots since we were there anyway.
If it hadn’t been for Trey, the ride home would have been completely silent. Beau was still ticked off at me, that was more than apparent. Hearing stories about Trey on the farm was soothing to my soul. Not to mention funny.
By the time we got back, I was more than ready to run back to our place and hide in my bedroom for the rest of the night.
Which is exactly what I did.
The next day a package arrived. When I opened it, I saw several new personal vibrating toys inside. Some I honestly didn’t even know how to use. One was the exact brand and model of the one involved in the puppy incident. The card inside said, “Geneviève, here are some replacements. Beau.”
