Silence. Not that I needed her an answer. There’s no easy way to get out of the city, but she probably hasn’t thought that far ahead.

Remi:There’s still twenty days. I’ll figure out something.

Gage: Let me give you some valuable intel. There are no roads straight out of the city. It’s all bridges and subways. The bridges are all blockaded. If you manage to get past them, there are cars all the way across, which might not seem like a big deal, until you find that ragers will most definitely be there. They stand around in a daze until they hear something, then all eyes on you. They run flat out, savage as fuck, bringing their friends along for the party. They stop at nothing until they catch their prey. And if you think the bridges are a bad idea, the subway tunnels are worse.

Remi:What about a boat?

Gage: The ones that were in the water when the ragers hit are gone, so you’d have to find one, get it to a pier, and launch it.

Remi:What you’re saying is there’s no way out of the city?

Gage: I never said that.

Remi:I can’t fly a plane, not that there are any available. Perhaps the sewers will provide shelter from the explosion, but afterward, how will I find food? The only way out of this for me is dead.

She’s desperate.

Good.

Gage: There is still the subject of luxury goods.

Remi:I don’t have time for this.

Gage: My apologies. I thought you were still interested in negotiating.

Remi:I am, but speak plainly. I have no interest in riddles. What do you want in exchange for food and getting me over the bridge?

Oh, I’ll give you plainly.

Gage: Pussy.
