My stomach lurches when he releases my face so I can see who it is.

It's the fucking alpha my mother brought to claim me.

"IT'S YOU? YOU'VE BEEN pulling all this shit with the roses?"

That doesn’t even make sense. I’m going to kill him.

His grip on my arm tightens painfully as he shakes me. “Shut up, omega. You don't deserve any flowers. It's time for you to listen. You're going to tell that pathetic excuse for a pack that you are no longer interested, and then you're going to come back home like a good little omega where you'll be bonded and branded, no longer able to make all this trouble. It's time for you to learn your place."

I shove him with my free arm, trying to break away. “What the hell does it matter to you?"

He shoves me against the shelf so hard I bang my head. “I like breaking things. And I think you'll be fun to break. You'll actually be a challenge. Usually omegas are so soft. I've always preferred betas. But you aren't like most omegas, are you?"

Like that's a compliment. I don't even begin to have time to explain to him that omegas come in all fucking shapes and sizes and that generalizations are stupid and ridiculous, just like his face. I've got to get away from him. Rose, Trix, and Oliver are all here. They'll help me.

He slaps a hand back over my mouth before I can release a scream. "Not a good idea. They don't need to get hurt for such a bratty omega. You're either going to do what I say, and agree to my bond, or they'll be the ones who pay. I bet that other omega would put up a nice fight too and there are no bond marks on his neck protecting him. Or that pretty little Rose. I bet she'll weep so pretty for me. Your mother promised me certain things, and I mean to collect. You have two days."

I rip away from him with a roar, raking my nails across his ugly ass face. That’s become my go-to move at this point. He's not going to touch any of my omegas. I'll kill him if he fucking tries. He screams and clutches his face, leaving his tiny dick open for me to jam my boot into. And with a quick apology to the books, I shove at the shelf beside us with every bit and rage and fear I have inside of me, sending it crashing down onto the piece of shit alpha.

The noise sends everyone running over to see what's going on and Oliver snarls as soon as he recognizes the unconscious alpha beneath the shelves and books.

One of the librarians has her phone up to her ear. "I'm calling the cops."

Oliver nods at her as he wraps me in his arms. "Thanks. Are you okay?"

"I'm... I don't know." I start shaking as I fist the lapels of his jacket.

“Are you hurt?" Oliver asks.

I sniff. “No."
