“You are good.” He caught her and carefully walked her back to bed. He removed the clothing carefully, pulled the sheets back, and tucked her in.

“So, you think you can help?”

He smiled, and his tail slowly descended toward her. His stinger extended, and there was a glowing orb at its tip.

“Open your mouth.” He caressed her throat.

She obediently opened her mouth, and the stinger dipped to touch her lips, the orb slipping into her mouth. It was thick, and she swallowed slowly.

“He is trying to design something to help you.”

“It tastes like green apple.” She licked her lips.

He watched the movements of her little pink tongue, and he shuddered. Now was not the time to pounce on her. “He didn’t want anything to make you ill, so it was going to be this or lemon. It will take some time before the treatment will be complete.”

Ylara looked up at him and said, “Creating an addiction?”

“A treatment. It doesn’t have the regenerative boost of Khytten’s treatment, but it can help balance your body chemistry. How do you feel?”

“Rather sleepy.”

He kissed her forehead. “Then, sleep. I will be with you in a few minutes.”

She looked up at him with her sleepy black eyes. “Okay. I will stay awake.”

He pressed a soft kiss to her lips. “You don’t have to.”

“I want to.”

“I will be quick.”

She smiled and nestled into the bedding. “That would be a first.”

He looked at her and groaned. “Why do I love such a mean woman?”

She jolted and was wide awake. “What?”

He smiled, got up, and walked out of the room. When he said he loved her, her body had flared to life. When she was better, he wanted to try that again. It was true, but he had not thought she would be so stunned by it.

He went through his friends and family, saying his goodnights.

Vallu frowned. “Is she all right?”

“She is a little green. She said it is probably morning sickness.”

Etgar wrapped his arm around his mate’s waist. “Vallu had an issue, but it eventually faded.”

Vallu snorted. “Not yet, but it is getting there. Fuzz therapy is helping.”

Etgar smiled. “Tomorrow, if she is up to it, introduce Ylara to Makso. The staff at the stables are very accommodating.”

He nodded. “I might.”

“It will be good for her to do something in the normal range,” Etgar advised.

He smiled. “I just want to get back to her.”

He turned to Helen Daycross and bowed over her hand. “Thank you for coming.”
