CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Laura

Most people’sidea of aday off consisted of chilling at home, watching movies, going shopping, and maybe hitting arestaurant for lunch or dinner. Keeping it small and simple.

Zach had aslightly different idea on the subject. Aslightly over-the-top idea.

“Say that again? Where did you say we are going?” Iasked, unsure Ihad heard right.

Zach sat next to me in bed, all clean and smelling good with dark jeans and apale blue T-shirt that made his gleaming eyes shine brighter. These brilliant blues smiled, despite his attempts at aserious expression, as he handed me asteaming cup of coffee.

Zach was excited, and so was I.

“To the Mandarin’sspa for ahot stone massage and then I’ll take your pliant body and feed it with room service and my cock.”

“In asuite? You mentioned asuite?” His crudeness skipped right over me. He was right, Iknew him too well to think he was apig.

“Idid say that, yes.”

Imulled that over in my head, weighing the pros and cons of the offer he sprang on me. The con hung above me like agiant banner sayingThis is what couples do, with how romantic it all sounded, minus the cock feeding. The pros on the other end seemed endless. My back could use the TLC, my eyes achange of scenery, and I’dnever stayed at ahotel.

Not in ahotel and not with Zach’snaked body. Perhaps Ishould’ve paid attention to his crude tone that obliterated anything remotely close to this being aromantic getaway. That and the last month.

We liked fucking each other, we liked hanging out, and spending the night with him had grown on me little by little. But there was nothing more to it, nothing either of us could offer, and being apart from him for amonth set that fact in stone.

If fuck buddies could do sleepovers, they could survive one day at ahotel without getting any ideas.

“…and Ithought you’dlike amassage.” Zach finished his sentence while Iworked the math of my emotions.

“Sorry, can you repeat that, please?”

“Isaid, I’ve seen you rub your back like it hurt abunch of times, and Ithought you’dlike amassage.” He examined me, sounding not as confident as he did before. “Was Iwrong? Ican still cancel.”

“No!” Iwaved with my unoccupied hand. “Do not abort. Irepeat, do not abort.” He sighed alaugh of relief and ruffled his short hair.

“When do we leave?”

“Let’ssee.” He made ashow of looking at his phone. “You have about, say, five minutes.”

“Five minutes?” Iyelped, giving him my coffee and jumping straight to the bathroom.

He followed me to the shower, hanging out in the doorway with asexy smirk. “Need my help?”

“No!” Itossed my shirt at him and hopped into the cold water, not waiting for it to warm up. “You can do that later.”

“Can Iwatch?”

Ipulled my lips in to hide my smile and more importantly, to hide how much Ihad missed his attention.

“Yes, yes, you can.” When he reached for his jeans Iyelled, “With your clothes on!”

His groan, however, made it impossible to contain my laugh.

“Laura, would you please enjoy yourself in silence?” Zach groaned, this time from the bed beside me.

“Will not,” Imurmured to the floor through the massage table cushion. “This is my back showing its appreciation to you for bringing me here.”

The masseuse moved the hot stones on my aching muscles, loosening each and every one of them. It soothed me, like everything else in that spa. The calming music and water sounds seeping in from the speakers, the dimly lit room, the massage oils. This place was the definition of bliss.
