“No. Especially when it comes to a bunch of rich snobs I couldn’t give two shits about.”

“Well, you care for Arianna and Matteo right?”

“Yes.”

“Ok, so put your game face on and at least pretend to not loath being there. For at least Arianna’s sake.” I winked. “Like I’m going to do.”

His lips twitched. “I’ll meet you downstairs at one-thirty then?”

“That works for me.”

He headed for the shower and I proceeded to make a mountain of pancakes. Diving into them while thinking of ways to crack the thick nutshell Luca encased himself in. If he did have feelings for me he guarded them fervently.

Or they don’t exist.

The latter explanation killed my appetite, prompting me to head up to get ready.
