He gave her a pointed look. “She’s definitely his type.”
“Oh! Kind of like how I was definitely your type?” she asked, a twinkle in her eye.
“The moment I laid eyes on you, my heart was yours,” Ian said, looking lovingly into her eyes. “I just had no idea how I was ever going to be brave enough to let you know.”
Jessica reached up and touched Ian’s face, tears misting her eyes. “You being brave is what saved my life, Ian. And your love and encouragement is what helps me be confident and brave enough to start over. And to follow my dreams.”
“Thank you for helping my dreams come true.” Ian leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Jessica’s soft lips. “I have an idea,” he said.
“And what would that be?”
“Let’s go inside and have a piece of pie to celebrate following our dreams, together.”
Jessica laughed, and together they walked hand in hand toward their future.
