She disappeared into the sound, lost in the rapture of bliss.

Their song ended, and she chased her breath, winding down from a dreamy ecstasy.

She looked up and caught his eye. “A girl could get used to a life of recklessness.”

“Is that so?” he asked as a sated smile bloomed on his lips. But the expression disappeared when he flicked his gaze to the dance floor. “Oh shit!”

“What?”

“Down there,” he said, pointing to a trio of security guards at the far end of the club. The men were pointing at them.

He pulled out, then hiked up his pants. “We’ve got to go.”

Panic tore through her as she whipped the curtains closed.

“Landon, we cannot get arrested. Libby and Raz almost got arrested and that led to them hanging with donkeys all summer. I am not running around the mountains with donkeys.”

“I hear you, bonbon. That’s not us. Libby and Raz are the best, and their donkeys are great and all, but they smell like…”

“Like freaking donkeys,” she shot back, ready to hightail it off the balcony.

They bolted out the door, taking the steps two at a time, when Landon glanced at her, then skidded to a halt.

“Why are you stopping?”

“Your tutu.”

She looked down, shrieked, and covered her lady parts. “I’m half-naked. We have to go back and get my tutu. I can’t go out there like this. Maybe if I had body glitter like Bang Bang Barbie, I could pull it off.”

What kind of crazy was she spouting?

Had he bang-banged the sense clean out of her?

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but we don’t have any glitter. We can’t go back.” He whipped off his shirt and handed it to her.

Her jaw dropped as her naughty girl brain concentrated on his ripped torso. “I’m good with this wardrobe modification, but I don’t think more nakedness will help us.”

“It’s for you,” he said, shaking his head. “It’s long enough. It’ll cover everything.”

She glanced up the stairs. “I love that tutu,” she lamented, but the man was right.

She slipped his shirt over her head and followed him down the metal stairs, clanking as they picked up speed.

“What about you?” she asked as they neared the bottom. “Now you’re half-naked.”

“There are like twenty shirtless gladiators in the club for Jude and Katrina’s wedding. They won’t notice me.”

Breathing hard, they made it to the first floor and peeked out the stairwell.

“Do you see them?” she asked, holding on to his arm.

“Yeah, they’re closing in on this side of the club. Go with what I’m about to do,” he answered. Doing a duck and run, he led her around the corner, toward the bar, then lifted her onto a barstool. She plopped onto something soft as the guards plowed through the dance floor. Their heads swiveled back and forth as they scanned the area.

She blinked as one of them met her gaze. “Landon, I think we’re screw—”

Before she could finish, he shut her up with a kiss. Instinctively, she wrapped her legs around him, pulling him between her thighs.

Breaking every rule seemed to be great for their libidos.
