“Taurs is a fucking legend in the sack though, right Beej?” He whacks me in the arm and I feel like we’re back in school when Jo would say shit to make me laugh and I’d be fighting against every instinct not to. I mash my lips together, not looking away from Jordan.
“She’s top five for sure,” Jonah says, grinning.
I cross my arms over my chest, flip him off covertly as I do.
“Yep, better to not answer that one.” Jonah nods to himself. “Top three?”
“Fucking get out.” I point at the door and he starts laughing and goes to his room.
Jordan looks over at me and rolls her eyes at Jonah.
“She’s my oldest friend,” I tell her with a sorry look. “I should probably help them.”
“But it’s a triple double date.” She crosses her arms.
“A what?” I blink.
She rolls her eyes. “Three couples going on a double date. And you know how annoying Claudia’s boyfriend is—”
I groan. “Jords, I don’t want to hear him talk about how he would have been cast as the new Batman if Robert Pattinson just hadn’t been born. I can’t do that again.”
She laughs before she grabs my arm and gives me pleading eyes. “Please?” She gives me a hopeful look. “Imagine how stupid I’d look on a double date by myself, like I don’t have a boyfriend or anything, when actually, mine is way hotter than any of theirs.”
I roll my eyes at her.
“And Caitlin really wants to meet you.”
I grimace. “The weird one from work.”
“Yeah.” She shrugs. “She’s pretty obsessed with you.”
“Great.” I nod unenthused.
She lifts her eyebrows. “So you’ll come?”
I sigh. “I guess, yeah.”
Said I would, suppose I should.
She gives my arm a grateful squeeze and kisses me.
“You’re the best,” she tells me.
But I’m not so sure.
