BJ

“Are you out of your fucking mind?” Jonah shoves me. “Beej?” He shoves me again. “Are you insane?”

I shake my head, trying to push past my best friend to get back to him, to finish this once and for all.

“BJ!” Jonah yells again, pushing me hard. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“He was fucking some girl in a hallway and Parks saw it.” Shake my head. Can’t believe that fucking son of a bitch.

“I don’t care, Beej.” He shoves me again. “He is the most dangerous man in England. He can do whatever the fuck he wants.”

I shake my head at him, jaw tight. “Not with her he can’t.”

“Beej—” He holds me by the shoulders. “I need you to listen to me and get this through your fucking head: He. Could. Kill. You.”

Jonah breathes out, face pulling with stress. “He might already.”

I don’t give a shit, I look back up to the building I’m outside of now, wonder how I can get back in, get back to her. I can’t believe we left her with him.

“We need to go.” Jonah shakes his head. “If he walks out here and sees you—”

“Where’s Parks?” I look around for her.

He shoves me towards his car, shaking his head.

“That’s not your problem right now, man.”

“She’s always my problem.” I glare over at him.

Jonah watches me from the opposite side of his Escalade.

“Do you need the hospital?”

I swipe my bleeding mouth. “No, I’m fine.”

He turns my face to inspect it himself. Pokes a deep cut.

“This could use a stitch.”

I smack him off. “I said I’m fine.”

I stare out the window, jaw set.

“Take me to her,” I tell him.

Jonah shakes his head. “Beej, no—”

“Yes.”

“He could be there.”

“I don’t give a fuck.”

“Yeah, I know, man.” Jonah eyes me. “You’ve got that look in your eye where you don’t give a shit about shit, and I know you get like this about her, but you don’t know that she’s not with him. She might be—”

I shake my head at him. “—She’s going to end it with him. Now.”
