Chapter Six

Andrea

Andrea wavedoff the woman at the reception of Rebel Racers as she offered to escort her to Charlie’s office, the woman frowning as Andrea simply headed up the stairs. She could see Charlie on a call, her friend gesturing with her free hand. Andrea grinned as she knocked at the door, then sauntered in just as Charlie finished up.

The first thing she did was hug Charlie and apologize for not turning up days ago like she planned. “I’m so sorry I’m a few days late but we seriously need shots to toast an end to this nightmare week!”

Andi all but threw herself down on a chair, dangling her legs off the side as she whinged to Charlie. “Of all the bands Emerald Records wants me to do PR for, it had to be Heartache Melody. Apparently, when they found out that I was Rhys’ sister, they decided it would be perrrrrrfect for me to run with it. Fuck my life.”

“So seeing the rock god again went as well as my first interaction with Noah went?”

Andi sighed, not wanting to go into the boy drama especially since she was debating whether or not to tell Charlie that she had a run-in with Noah Donovan herself a few days ago over their phone and their interaction had gone anything but smooth.

“Um well, you don’t sound like Charlie?” Andrea mused down the phone at the gruff but sexy tone.

“She’s not here, can I take a message?” the voice barked down the line and Andrea was sure she recognised it.

She was wondering if the person answering the phone was the same man who had broken her best friend’s heart and decided to push some buttons. “Oh, leave it to Charlie to only be in her office all of five minutes and hire herself an assistant with a sexy radio voice.”

“You want me to take a message or not? I don’t have time for the verbal banter.”

Andrea felt her own temper flare, sucked in a breath, then went into full-out boss bitch tone. “I don’t know who you think you are talking to with that tone, but please let me know your name so I can tell your boss, my business partner which asshole to fire.”

There was no hesitation as Mr. Smartass told her. “Sweetheart, my contract is so ironclad that even Charlie can’t break it. So, the names Noah, Noah Donovan, if you want to try and get Charlie to hand me my pink slip. Or do you just want me to pass on that you called? You could try her mobile.”

“Like I didn’t try that already smartass.” Andrea snorted, rolling her eyes at the idiot on the other end of the line retorted. “I can see it’s going to be fucking picnic working with you, Noah Donovan.”

Charlotte ordered two americanos then said as she leaned back in her seat. “You can hand this off to Nicolette if you want.”

Andrea knew Charlie was looking out for her, but if Charlie had the balls to work alongside Noah all day, then Andrea could do the same with Declan. She rolled her eyes. “I love Nicolette but the chances of her dropping her knickers if any of the lads even show the slightest interest could tank the relationship. Leave her to handle that girl band reunion and keep her out of trouble and the headlines.”

They both knew their college classmate would cause mayhem in Ireland so that was the end of that conversation.

“So, before you argue with me, Charlie, I’m in major need of some dancing, some vodka, and a dirty munch when the club closes outside the fountain.”

“Andi,” Charlotte groaned, shaking her head, making Andrea grin. “You know I can’t just rock up to a bar right now without bringing the Irish media trailing after me.”

A knock sounded on the door and Luke Sullivan walked in all Irish smiles and ginger hair. “I was passing by and said I would drop these in.” Luke set the coffees down on the desk before he turned to Andrea with a boyish smile that Andrea had no doubt made girls swoon.

“Luke Sullivan.”

“I had the pleasure of meeting your twin a couple of days ago.”

Luke shook his head as he laughed. “Should I apologies for the fact my sister has no filter in advance?”

“She’s definitely a straight shooter, your sister. But then again, she has to put up with my brother so...”

Luke’s eyes widened. “No way! Your Rhys’ Andi?”

“For my sins.”

Like the fact that they both had this newfound connection because of their siblings, Andrea chatted away to Luke about the band, his family, and even his bar, Luke smiling when Andrea told him she was a dab hand at tending bar herself. Then Luke told her that a few people were getting together at his dad’s bar and it would be totally private.

Andrea could see Charlie lost in her thoughts. “We would love to, wouldn’t we, Charlie?”

“Umm sure...” Charlie said noncommittedly, her cheeks pinking with embarrassment at being caught out so Andrea gave her a mischievous smile.

“Excellent. Luke has kindly invited us to his family pub in town, where he had promised me food, drink, and plenty of alcohol. And best of all, no media allowed.”
