“What?” Both men say at once.

“That’s her show. One night we watched it. Memphis is a fighter. I’ve never fought him, but I know of him.”

“All right then,” Remo chuckles.

“We’re going to grab something to eat before the press conference. I’m sending Thorn up after dinner, so he doesn’t try something stupid. He’ll bring food back for you.”

“Thanks. Can you hand me a couple beers? I don’t want to move and disturb her,” Remo says.

“Yeah,” I go and grab two out of the fridge and set them on the table before leaning down and kissing Briar on the cheek. She needs her rest.

“If it was anyone but you two I’d probably be punching heads right now,” I state.

“I know. Thanks for not beating me. Even though I would be a better match,” Remo teases. Holden chuckles as I turn my glare on him.

“Watch it,” I warn.

“She’s perfect for you. I thought I had my soulmate, but I guess not and someday I will find her. But Briar is it for you. We all see it,” Holden says.

“Thanks.”

“She is one of the sweetest people I know and I consider her my family. She’s kind and loving and she listens. She tries to help instead of offering sentiments, and she includes everyone. You deserve that in your life,” Remo agrees.

“Thanks.” I kiss her one more time before patting Remo’s shoulder and going to the room to take a shower.

I know she’s in good hands with them. I mean Remo’s a doctor so there’s that if something happens to her. What he said did rub me the wrong way even though he was teasing me. Looks wise, Remo is the winner. He’s also kinder than me. Tristan is another good match. Makes me wonder why she’s with me. I do love her and soon this will be over and we’ll go on with our lives. I’ll show her the world and shower her with the love and affection that she needs.

I change and go to meet up with Tristan so we can go to dinner.

“I’ll call down when she wakes up. Let Thorn enjoy his dinner and go to the press conference. He’ll be all right,” Remo says.

“Thanks. If you want, they are showing the press conference on local TV.”

“I’ll be sure to tune in. Don’t let him get to you. Save it for the cage,” he warns.

“I’ll try.”

Briar

“Briar?” I hear my name being called as I open my eyes.

“Hmmmmm,” I sit up a little bit trying to remember where I am.

“It’s almost time for Kingston to be on TV. You need to eat, also,” Holden says.

I sit up and then I freeze, “Does he know? Does Kingston know?”

“No. I didn’t tell him. He saw that you were sleeping. He kissed your cheek and went to dinner. He didn’t want to wake you. I told you I wouldn’t tell him and I didn’t. You should eat. I can make you some tea.”

“You can make tea?”

“It’s tea. And just because I’m a man doesn’t mean I don’t know how to do certain things. But it’s a tea bag in some water, how hard is that?” He rolls his eyes and I chuckle.

“Okay, sorry. Yes, tea sounds nice. Order whatever for me. Where’s Remo?”

“Got it, hot stuff,” he smirks and I blush. He’s only teasing but it’s cute. I’m glad to see he’s feeling better as well.

“He went to go take a shower.”
