“He’s good, but I’ve beaten him before,” I smirk. Piece of cake.

“Yeah, but that was years ago. In the cage, let’s see what you got,” Dante says as I rush to change and wrap my hands on the way to the center cage.

“Tristan, care to spar?” Dante calls out to him and Tristan’s eyes widen.

I haven’t told the rest of them.

While Tristan loves being in the cage, he’s unsure of being in the cage with me.

I nod letting him know it will be okay.

“Care to tell me something?” he asks as he passes me.

“Later.”

“I’ll go easy on you, old man,” he teases. I know he’s teasing since he’s not that much younger than me. He turns thirty this year.

“Old man? Sweetheart, am I an old man?” I call out to Briar.

“Jury is still out,” she laughs and winks.

I laugh as Tristan and I hit gloves. We won’t be hitting hard, but this will be a fight.

We start the old song and dance around the cage. Tristan is good, but I’m better and before long, I have him pinned.

“That’s enough. Tristan hit the showers,” Dante calls out.

“Well?” I lean up against the cage as Tristan heads to the locker room.

I take a drink out of the water bottle Thorn handed me, catching my breath.

“Pretty good. Good enough to beat Caleb. No offense,” he looks at Caleb who just shrugs and heads to the locker room with Tristan.

“We have a few days to work on beating Aiden,” he goes on and I just nod my head.

“Okay.”

“Not good enough to beat Lane yet,” he states.

I grit my teeth, not what I wanted to hear.

“Your fight with Caleb is here. We’ll do everything, interviews and weigh-ins on the same day, the 26th. Then you have to be in New York by the 28th.”

“Got it. You coming to Christmas dinner?” I ask him as I wipe the sweat off my face.

“I’ve been told if I’m not there, your mother will come find me and cut my fingers off, so yeah I’ll be there,” he chuckles.

“Sounds like mom,” I add.

“I’m going across the street to meet your sisters,” Briar says.

“Keep your phone on,” I call out as Dante tells me to hit the bags.

Fuck this sucks. I’ll be as sore as Thorn after his first few days.

Briar

“That’s your car?” Tana looks across the street where my ruined car sits. Hayes said they would have a tow truck come pick it up later today. He came in and talked to me and Thorn while King was in the ring.
