Lexie

Herbodyleanedagainst the sticky leather as her eyes grazed across the pages of the book she held in her hand. She had been reading the same page for the last thirty minutes and hadn’t retained a single word. She lowered the book onto her lap and focused her full attention to the scenery around her. They were on the way back to the port in St. Thomas and she wasn’t quite sure she wanted paradise to end. Nav fell asleep shortly after they stepped onto the boat, likely a consequence of their rendezvous the night before. She felt tired as well, but couldn’t get her restless mind to calm down. The others were relaxing as well on various sections of the boat. It seemed they could no longer party non-stop as they had once been able to.

The waves rocked against the boat as it glided through the water. Their flight would leave in a few hours and she knew she’d have to return to reality soon. After everything that had transpired over the weekend she wanted to believe the return to their small town would be different. She had a renewed sense of life and was ready to move forward after all the heartbreak and loss. But, she’d be returning to the home she built and loved with Oliver. How will this feel once she was out of paradise? Was she throwing too much of herself into this potentially-renewed romance with Nav?

She had to remind herself over and over again they were taking things slow--despite sleeping together on numerous occasions in numerous positions throughout the last several days. Her cheeks blazoned red with the memory of Nav’s hands swirling against her sensitive skin as she stuck her ass in the air, Nav pounding her from behind. A small shudder spread across her body and the want for Nav had returned. The lust was fleeting, but never far from reach.

She shook her head, clearing her mind. She threw the book onto the bench and lowered her legs over the side of the chair she was on, propping herself into an upright position. She stood, letting her feet rest on the metal beneath her. She walked back into the saloon, and straight down into the cabin she had once claimed as her own, but had since decided to share with Nav. She walked in and Nav was still lying on the bed face down with his arms above his head, his bare feet dangling off the edge. She shut and locked the door behind her and crawled onto the bed next to him. With the shift of the mattress, Nav rustled awake and tipped his head up to meet hers. A lazy smile slid across his lips and butterflies swarmed inside her stomach. He lifted his hand toward her and placed it on her thigh. His thumb swirled in comforting circles. He groaned for a moment and flopped over onto his back. He stretched the arm out that had been on her thigh and she slipped down so she could lay on his chest. With his strong arm around her and her head nestled onto his hard chest, she dozed into a peaceful sleep listening to the thud-thud of his heart.
