“And that’s mine, Nikita,” Rithwik grins, pulling Nikita to him and then the two men are too curious to know my introduction.

“I am Jhanvi Raichand, Aarav Raichand’s wife.”

The moment I introduce myself, both Nikita and Ananya’s jaws drop and they look embarrassed for openly admiring my husband before me. I didn’t mind. I wink at the two women as Aarav reaches me and scoops me in his arms, kissing my forehead.

“You okay, Jaan?”

The two women almost gasp as he speaks, especially because he calls meJaan. But they soon clear their throats together so that their husbands don’t realize they were swooning at Aarav.

“I’m absolutely fine.”

“Good. Time to go home then.”

I totally agree. While he shakes hands with Rajveer and Rithwik again, I give a parting hug to their wives.

“Lucky you,” Ananya whispers while Nikita grins coyly again.

“That I am.”

I hold Aarav’s arm and let him guide me to the exit.

“What was going back there with you three?” Aarav asks on our way out.

“You have a great fan following, Mr. Raichand. I hope you know that.”

“Who cares?” He shrugs, sliding his arm around my waist while drawing me closer as we walk. “I am following only one. I don’t need more.”

That one line steals the show.

**************

When we reach home from the party, Aarvi insists on watching her favorite cartoon movie and though Aarav and I are both dead tired, we don’t deny her wish. It’s rare that we get to spend time like this.Together. We change back to our nightdresses and begin the movie on the huge plasma TV in the living room. It’s fun to see how Aarvi mimics a few dialogues while watching and she is so perfectly in sync, all thanks to the uncountable times she and Aarav have watched it in my absence. I keep yawning in between but I don’t want to sleep. Almost after half of the movie, it’s Aarvi who dozes off first on my lap. Aarav switches Off the TV and then carries her in arms. I follow them to the bedroom, help him place Aarvi at the side, with a pillow stuffed at the border. There’s no way I am going to let Aarvi sleep in the other room for a few days, nor do I want to miss the chance of sleeping in the center of the bed, cuddling Aarav.

Just when we are about to lie down, his phone buzzes.

“It’s Akash.”

Who is Akash? I don’t know about this guy. Aarav realizes the confusion in my eyes and promises to answer me after the call ends. He heads out to speak while I cover Aarvi with the quilt and kiss her forehead. Just a few minutes later, I hear Aarav’s raged voice and that’s enough to tell me he is shouting at someone, barking orders too. So, I quickly stride out shutting the door behind me.

Aarav

I can’t believe this. Akash is back from Scotland and he has some important news to share which connects to Rudra Singh’s cruelty.

“How sure are you, Akash?” I pace in the lobby, trying my best to tone down my volume but it doesn't work.

“One hundred percent sure. We have proof, Aarav. Rudra’s servant at the Juhu Villa has confessed it. We have it recorded and also, I spoke to the Embassy chief in Scotland. There is literally no evidence that Khushi Thakur ever entered Scotland through road or air. They have checked the immigration details thoroughly.”

I see Jhanvi coming out of the bedroom. My voice must have scared her. I wind up the call.

“Akash, we need to get the police involved. Collate the proof and I want to file an FIR against Rudra Singh. Do you hear me?”

“On it, Aarav. I think these proofs are enough to get him arrested.”

“Good. Keep me posted.”

I disconnect the call and reach Jhanvi halfway.

“You are filing a police complaint against Rudra?” She queries. “What’s happening, Aarav?”
