William and I laugh. “Of course, Irelynn.” He leans over, hugging her like he would his best friend. The sister and family he never had.

When they pull apart, Irelynn turns to her dad. “Congrats, kitten. You certainly picked the best son I could ask for to join our family.” He winks at me before pulling her into his arms.

Rosalyn swoops in, giving me a huge hug. “Please, call me mom from now on.”

As I pull back, I wink. “Happily, Mom.”

Lucinda comes over next. I can’t help the wide smile on my face as laughter immediately bubbles in my throat. She is a hoot and had us laughing so hard we were crying during Thanksgiving.

“You remember what I said now, dear girl.” She pauses, her gaze moving to me, giving me a wink, then back to Irelynn. “The first rule of marriage is lots of blowjobs. A man will never leave you if your mouth is around his cock.”

We all burst into laughter as Irelynn’s face turns as red as the Christmas lights hanging on the side of the gazebo. “Oh my God, Grandma.”

“Whoot! Cheers to that, Lucinda.” Darin claps his hands, then lets out a long whistle.

“While keeping the man’s belly full is a rule, I’m moving it down the line. The second rule of marriage, which is equally important, is this: stroke his ego, stroke his cock.”

“Jesus, Grandma.” Irelynn’s head is on my chest, her hands trying to shield her red face. “How is it you’ve managed to say blowjob and cock in less than thirty seconds?”

“That is the mark of a true genius!” Vanessa yells. “I’m creating a marriage rulebook. ‘Granny Lucinda’s Rules of a Long, Happy Marriage’. I just know it’s going to be a bestseller and I’ll be rich.”

Irelynn groans, lifting her head, watching them with amusement.

“You better be giving me a cut of the profits, dear. I want at least forty percent.” Lucinda winks, her arms wrapping around Irelynn’s grandfather.

Irelynn shakes her head, her eyes shining with pure bliss as her gaze locks with mine. “Are you sure you still want to marry me and be a part of this crazy family?”

“More than anything in this goddamn world, Irelynn Rose.” I cup her face in my hands. “I love you so fucking much. And I love your crazy family, too.” Cupping her face, I point toward the snow that is falling heavier from the sky, piling up around us. “More than all the snowflakes surrounding us.”

She turns her head, pressing her lips against mine.

This moment is every fucking thing.

More than I could ever wish for.

Epilogue: Irelynn

June12,2019

Staring into the mirror, I gaze at the long, lacy white dress that hugs my curves, studying myself critically.

“What do you think?” I turn around, taking in the tears in my mom’s and Vanessa’s eyes. They look completely awestruck, which is the look I’m going for.

Mission accomplished.

“You look gorgeous, sweetheart.” My mom steps forward, gently pulling me into her embrace, trying not to mess up my hair and makeup.

Vanessa is less worried about that. The second my mom steps back, she crushes me into a smothering embrace, nearly taking my breath away. “You look so fucking beautiful, my best bitch forever.”

Pulling back, I look her up and down, the sapphire blue dress clinging to her curves like a second skin. There was no way I was going to make Vanessa wear some ugly, non-sexy bridesmaid dress.

She never would have gone for it anyway.

My mom steps behind me, fluffing the train of my dress, when there’s a knock on the door. Vanessa hurries over and smiles when she sees who it is. “We are almost ready.” She holds the door open, and a smile crosses my face when I lock eyes with him.

William steps through the door, looking dashingly handsome in his tux. He lets out a low whistle when he takes in my dress, hair, and makeup. “Irelynn, you look positively stunning.” He comes over, kissing my cheek.

“Thank you, Will.” I give him a soft smile, appreciating how far we’ve come since the fall.
