Justin handed Colleen a knife. “You didn’t have to do this,” Colleen said. It was such a thoughtful thing to do. After they were married at City Hall, Finn and Colleen hosted a small dinner with her mom, Sean, Ana, and Molly at an intimate restaurant. And as wonderful as it was, they didn’t have a cake.

Lucy gave Colleen a huge hug. “I wanted to share some part of your wedding with you.”

“Thank you,” Finn added, holding the knife with Colleen to cut the first slice.

After cutting and serving the cake, Colleen sipped champagne and got caught up on Lucy and Justin’s life in England.

Finn was deep in discussion with Justin about a blues musician.

Colleen paused to take in this moment. It was perfect. She was happy and loved.

Finn caught her eye, and with a smile, he got to his feet. “I know this isn’t traditional, but I’d like to give a toast to my beautiful bride.”

Colleen kept her eyes on his, her heartbeat increasing as she waited to hear what he wanted to say to her.

Finn lifted his champagne glass to Colleen. “It seems like I’ve known you my entire life. We played together with your brothers, fought with each other, and shared jokes. And then one day—out of nowhere—I fell in love with you. It was that simple. Circumstances kept us apart and I never would have imagined that one day we would be married. I will never be worthy of your love. You are my passion, my life, and my Clíodhna—my queen.”

Colleen got to her feet, her eyes filling with tears. When he pressed his lips to hers, she murmured, “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

He lifted her in his arms and twirled her around to cheers. She threw her head back and laughed, the starry Santorini sky twinkling above.
