Finn’s body was strong and firm, as he guided her through seductive dips and turns. They weren’t dancing as friends in her parents’ living room anymore. This was something new and just for them. He spun her around a few times and let her go with a huge grin.
Colleen moved her hips in rhythm to the music. Each time she twirled around, she caught his eyes watching her every move. While dancing, her anxiety lessened a bit because she was in control. But she wasn’t just dancing, she was dancing for Finn. And it was a powerful feeling to know that it was her body that held his interest.
Finn pulled her back into his arms, pushing his right hip against hers, moving to the sexy music. His hands slid to her hips, and Colleen wrapped her hands behind his neck. Finn slowed down the moves, his fingers sliding over her inner arms. The surface of her skin pebbled with goosebumps.
Finn growled in her ear, “You’re teasing me.” His tone was possessive, as if he would command her to do whatever he wanted.
The thought was liberating, and Colleen threw her head back, trailing her dress higher up her thighs while Prince’s voice and guitar urged her on.
Finn’s lips skimmed her neck. “What do you want?”
“A kiss,” she whispered.
Lifting his head, his eyes lingered on her lips and he leaned her against the couch. Reaching behind her, he gently took her ponytail in his fist, pulling her closer to him. “How many boys have you kissed?” he murmured against the swell of her breast, his lips soft and warm.
“Too many to count,” she replied with a sigh.
Finn’s low chuckle vibrated against her skin. He lifted his head to hers. “How many men have you kissed?” His dark-rimmed blue eyes fixed on her with pure hunger.
“Only one.” His lips brushed hers lightly, giving her a few careful kisses. He pulled back to study her, his eyes narrowed. He didn’t believe her.
“Yes, it’s true,” she murmured, searching his eyes while her fingertips traced his lower lip, feeling his warm breath against her fingers.
The corner of Finn’s mouth lifted into a slow, shameless smile. He kissed her again, parting his lips to gently bite her bottom lip and then took control. His tongue slid over hers with unhurried deliberation. His kiss was perfect. Her muscles relaxed as her body opened up to him. She needed to show him she wanted this as much as he did.
Colleen’s hands trailed across his back and down to his ass as she kissed him.
He lifted her thigh around his hips, deepening the kiss with a groan. His erection brushed between her thighs. Her hips tilted up for a hint of friction. He caressed her exposed skin through the holes of in her open-backed dress, making her shudder.
Colleen held onto his strong arms for support. “We’re not dancing anymore.”
“We’re not.” With a heated gaze, he slid his hand under her dress, tracing the silk outline of her panties. “Stay with me tonight.”
Despite her longing, the familiar, creeping doubt returned. “I can’t.”
He leaned his forehead against hers, closing his eyes briefly. “Why not?” He kissed the nape of her neck.
She let out a soft sigh. It was such a simple question with a complicated answer.
“What’s the problem?” he asked, disappointment clouding his eyes.
Colleen looked away in frustration. Prince still played in the background, the rhythm of the next song even more sensual. She wanted to be with Finn and was drawn to him on a primal level, but what if he wasn’t satisfied with her?
He placed her leg back down, his arms letting her go. “Talk to me, Colleen. Don’t shut me out.”
There was no way she could explain her insecurity. Especially to Finn. She couldn’t bear it if he rejected her again. But he deserved some kind of answer. “It feels too soon, that’s all. I had a good time tonight, but I just got out of a relationship.”
Finn’s eyes narrowed. “He doesn’t matter.”
“I still need some time.”
“So you’re not saying no?”
She laughed a little in relief. He wasn’t giving up on her. “I’m not saying no.”
“Okay. But I want to tell you something.”
She lifted her eyes to his.
