“Hmm...” He brushed his fingers along her mound. “Let’s see how sore I can make you.”

Chapter 7

Kayla made her way down the hall and to Martin’s office. When she arrived, he was standing at the door, looking exceptionally impeccable in his dark blue suit and gray tie.

“Kayla.” He removed the bag from her shoulder and guided her into his office. “I’m glad you made it.”

“Thank you, Sir.” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying not to appear awkward in his presence, but this was the first time she was alone with him. “Julian is running late. Calvin let me up.”

“I heard.” He pointed to the couch. “Please, have a seat. Would you like something to drink?”

“I’m good. I mean, no thank you.” She sat down, but kept her attention on the traffic in the hallway. People were passing by, some were regulars that she had recognized from the few times she had been there, but others were new faces to her.

“Is something wrong?”

“You never leave your door open.”

“I do when I’m not discussing anything confidential. I can close it if you’d like. I want you to be comfortable.”

“Julian says that all the time.” She stared at the open door, watching as people walked down the hallway. She wondered what they were doing inside the club tonight. A scene, having dinner, meeting a new partner?

“Are you comfortable with Julian?”

“Sometimes I wish he’d make me a little uncomfortable.”

“Should this be a closed-door conversation?”

“No.” She turned to face him, not sure why she had even said anything. Thinking about all the dominant and submissive people in the club had her distracted. “Of course not. I just meant that he can be too careful with me.”

“Have you told him that?” He leaned against his desk, standing directly in front of her. “You have to tell him what you want. Don’t ever leave any room for guessing.”

“He asked you to join us, but...” She shook her head. “Never mind.”

“You can speak freely here,” he said. “If you need the conversation to stay in this room, consider it done.”

“I don’t have any secrets from Julian.”

“I’m glad to hear that, but what you tell me doesn’t have to be a secret. You might just need me to reassure you what we’re doing is okay.”

She shifted in her seat, still uneasy in his presence.

“Do you want to know why Julian asked me to join you?”

“Yes.” Julian had explained Martin could help them both lower their inhibitions, but she didn’t fully understand why they needed him to do that.

“Because I can do the things he can’t when it comes to you.”

“But he’s done some of those things with others before me.” Angelina came to mind even though Kayla tried hard to stick by her word. She did trust Julian. It was Angelina she wasn’t so sure of.

“That was different.”

“Why?”

“The innocence in your eyes.” He locked his gaze with hers, but she dropped her head. “It’s inspiring. Julian can mold you into anything he wants. You’re willing enough to allow him. The respect is mutual between the two of you. I look forward to following your progress.”

“What types of things can you do that Julian won’t with me?” A dryness invaded her throat. Should she even be going down this road without Julian’s presence?

“I’m stricter with you. I won’t hold back when I think you need to be reprimanded. Julian has only punished you once in all the months you’ve been together. There isn’t anything wrong with that, but to truly grasp the discipline being a submissive requires, you need to be held accountable for your actions.”
