“We’ll be out of here soon, no worries. Dean may have found Rissa, and Alec may have found Bailey, but that doesn’t mean they will break the pact,” Parker says, trying to reassure us as we stand beside our lockers before the first bell rings. Dean and Alec are MIA waiting for their girls in the parking lot.
“Yeah, we’ve had this planned since we were kids. No way they back out now,” Griffin agrees.
“Well, all we were waiting on was the baby of the group,” Landon, my only blood brother, says, wrapping his arm around my head and trying to dig his huge fucking bear paws into my head.
“I turned eighteen a week ago, ass. We are just waiting to graduate now,” I say, laughing, punching him in the stomach, making him back off for the moment. It’s not the first time we’ve done this song and dance. Just as I can feel him about to pounce on me, I catch a figure walking by our group. I would know those ass-kicking boots, fishnets, and bright tattoos anywhere. It’s Lexi, Rissa’s best friend, and just the girl I’ve been looking for.
“Hey Lex, just so you know…” I start but quickly shut my mouth the minute I get a look at her face. She looks like she’s been crying. The strongest, most stubborn girl in the world is moments away from shattering. The minute her eyes meet mine, her face falls, and she turns to run away.
That’s not fucking happening on my watch. The first thing I’m going to do is hunt my girl down. The second is to make sure she’s all right. Then, third, I’m going to find out exactly who the fuck thought it was a good idea to hurt her. Last, I’m going to fucking kill them.
