“Dude, did you put it in her locker?” one of the stupid fucking jocks at this god forsaken school says to his friend.

“Yeah, I told her to meet me in the band room. That I’ve had a crush on her all year and finally got up the courage to write her the note,” the other fucker snickers beside him. What the fuck? How can people be such dicks?

“Honestly, the way she handles that flute.” One of them says, and the whistles before making a very crude gesture with his hands and his dick. Wait. Flute? They better not be talking about who I think they are talking about.

“So, is Mindy already waiting in the room with the paint and the rest of the cheer team?” he says, and I swear today is the day I commit murder.

“Yup, everything’s ready to go,” they say, looking up.

I look over and see them staring at her. My girl. I watch as she opens her locker, and the note falls out. She looks around the hall, not noticing the fuckers laughing while watching her. She reads the note and I see a beautiful blush stain her cheeks and then a small smile. The fuckers beside me laugh again, and that’s it. No one fucks with my girl.

I wait until she’s walked away. I’m guessing to head to the band room, so I need to make this fast. I turn to the second strings players. The fuckers aren’t even good enough to make the varsity. Pussies.

“So, you think it’s funny leading a girl on, then fucking with her? I think I should teach you both a lesson on manners. You know, from the trailer park,” I say, stalking toward them. They look at each other worriedly before nodding and trying to rush me. I sigh, shaking my head. The life I grew up in has taught me a few things, one of them being how to survive.

They may rush me, but I have the upper hand and with only four hits total, they are both sprawled on the floor, one holding his bleeding nose, and one knocked out cold. I don’t wait around for the teachers to come. I rush after Birkley, hoping and praying I get to the band room before anyone does anything to hurt my girl.
