“I’m not waiting around, Killian,” I switched the phone to my other ear when I got to a T crossroads.

Although it was night, the streets were crawling with people. My senses were getting muddled, and Marian's scent blended with everything. Soon it would be harder to track her.

“I’m losing her! I have to go!”

“Dorian, there might be a nest!”

"I don't give a fuck!" I shouted, and several people stepped back or walked around me. "I need to shift. Track me and teleport Killian, but I'm not waiting around."

I crushed my phone and fell on my hands and knees.

Several people screamed when I started to shift, my clothes ripping from my body. Right now, nothing mattered, nothing other than finding Marian. I'd promised her I'd keep her safe, and Isaac got her right under my nose.

Fuck!

In my wolf form, my senses were sharper, and I caught a whiff of Isaac's scent. I turned right, rushing down the street. I couldn’t lose Marian, I couldn’t. We’d just found each other again.

I growled and snarled for people to get out of my way, this perhaps being the first time some of them had seen a shifted wolf running around so casually. If only they knew that I may lose everything tonight.

If only they knew my life would end if I lost Marian.

I'd wanted to give her one night of joy, and now, Isaac had her. I only hoped I'd find them before he could do something that couldn't be undone.
