As one, the guys turned to him with matching looks of disbelief on their faces. And then Jamie lost it.

“Oh, wow. This is literally the best thing that has happened since Lyra threatened Spence’s life and caused a traffic jam on the square.”

“Two cars is not a traffic jam.” Spence crossed his arms. “And one of them was Ms. Angie who was just there to escalate the situation as much as possible.”

Out of the corner of his eye, Cam saw Jamie nudge Noah and both men settled back into their seats as if pulling up a great movie they’d seen a few times already.

Cam ran a hand through his hair and figured, what the hell?

“Yup. We were having a fight about Tyler learning woodworking and she turned that intoour past.” He put air quotes around it in case his annoyed tone wasn’t enough of a key indicator. “So I figured, she opened the door, let’s put it all out there and… yeah, I might have shouted at her that I still loved her.”

The guys glanced at one another before simultaneously breaking into laughter.

“Oh, man.” Noah had to take a deep breath and then waved his hand to keep going because apparently he had more laughing to do.

“Yeah, she took me about as seriously as you guys.” Cam reached out and poured himself more tea, putting the pitcher firmly down on the table with a look when Jamie held his glass out for a refill. “And I want to absolutely thank you for your support.”

Noah shook his head, almost done laughing.

“Okay, first off, I support you and Vivian. I mean, this situation right here is a perfect example. I don’t know another woman you could yell at that you love them and still have a chance.”

“Amen,” Jamie added, as he reached for the pitcher and gave Cam an aggrieved glare.

“But I’m not sure bringing Tyler into this was your best move.”

“I didn’t bring him into it. It started with him.” Cam gave a quick rundown of the afternoon, all the work he’d been doing with Tyler when Vivian had shown up, and the fight that ensued.

They nodded along, none of them surprised and all of them secretly happy Cam was finally getting his rear in gear to win her back.

“I mean, I thought this would be way easier.” He stretched out his legs, trying to shake off all the day’s blows. “I figured, well, look at Spence.”

Jamie and Noah nodded their agreement.

“Wait, what does that mean? Look at Spence?”

And Spence has entered the conversation.

The troublemaker should be so happy he was just now being brought up since he’s the one who started it with the texts from Lyra.

“You basically showed up as Lyra’s archnemesis. If you can make a comeback from that, I should be able to recover from a stupid situation when I was sixteen. Who hasn’t done something completely idiotic when they were that age?”

“Me,” Spence said with absolute surety.

“Okay, so you missed sixteen, but you managed to hit some mistakes out of the park after that if I recall.”

Spence saluted him with his iced tea. “True. Very true.”

“So,” Jamie jumped back in, “how are you going to win her back?”

“Obviously I’m going to woo her.”

There was a weighted moment of silence before the men burst out laughing again.

“Vivian?”

“Yes, Vivian. If I want to marry Vivian, why would I woo someone else?”

Jamie snorted. “That might actually be easier. Vivian isn’t exactly… wooable?”
