“Oh?” Stone glanced between us. “Is that so?” He chuckled. “You must think I’m a moron,Piccola.” His gaze met mine. “I don’t know what’s going on between you two but whatever it is, I don’t like it.”

I crossed my arms under my chest. “I was helping her with the toilet like she said.” I was taught to respect my elders, but a guy could only take so much before he snapped.

Stone gave me one final glance before he turned and left the bathroom. “Luna, I need to talk to you.”

“I’m sorry,” she muttered.

“It’s fine. I should go anyway.” I went to walk past her when she touched my arm. I glanced down at her.

“Iamsorry,” she repeated.

I only nodded, pushed past her and left her room without so much as giving Stone a second glance.

(Luna)

“Did you really have to do that?” I demanded of my father, placing my hands on my hips.

He sat on the edge of my bed, scrubbing a hand down his face. “You have to be careful. We’ve taught you that.”

“What? You think Zach’s going to hurt me?” I rolled my eyes. “Come on, Daddy. Seriously. I’ve known the guy since I was a little girl.”

“Yeah.” Dad dropped his hand to his side. “Exactly. He’s not healthy for you.”

“And some stranger is?” I cried, frustrated that my father felt the need to butt his nose into my business all the damn time.

“Be careful how you talk to me.” Dad rose to his feet, towering over me. His dark eyes peered into mine.

“Then you need to stop this.”

We stared each other down.

I let out a hard sigh, knowing that there was no point in arguing with him. Once my father had an idea in his head, that was it. He wouldn’t see reason. Maybe I could talk to my mom. She could hopefully try and convince him that Zach and I were right for each other. That he was right forme. Before it was too late and I lost him to some other woman.

Zach

I COULD STILL FEELLuna trembling against me. Feel her hand wrapped around me. See the need in her eyes. She wanted me, that much was clear. But her father was a problem. A large problem and I had no idea how to get him to understand that I would go through him to get to his daughter. I didn’t give a shit how big he was.

While Luna was dealing with her dad, I decided to leave her room and give them some privacy.

“Hey, Zach,” both Ashton and Aiden said, coming toward me.

“Hey,” I said, heading to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.

“Are you going on that date?” Ashton asked.

I stopped, peering at him over my shoulder. “I told you I wasn’t.”

“Are you dating Luna yet?” he threw at me.

My jaw clenched so damn hard, a sharp pain shot up the side of my face. “That’s none of your fucking business.”

He laughed. “Didn’t think so. If you aren’t, do you mind if I ask her out?”

My brows narrowed. “Is that why you tried setting me up on that date? So, you could date Luna instead?” Thoughts of them together invaded my mind. Ashton was a good guy, but while the rumors about me weren’t true, they were when it came to him.

Ashton smirked. “It was just—”
