“You can tell her to dump his ass.”

She grinned.“Well, you know.”She took another nacho.

“Hey, Elise.”He gave her a hug.“Good to see you.”He looked over at Valentina.“Hi, I’m Stefano, and you are?”

“I’m Valentina.I am a guest of Sam’s.”

“Nice to meet you, Valentina.”He looked her up and down.“You’re quite beautiful.”

“Thank you,” she said, “and this is my best friend, Gabriella.”

“Wow, you’re Gabriella?”He smiled and then looked at me.“Hey, well, who knew all these beauties would be here tonight? And who are you?”He looked at Shane.

“I’m Shane Townsend.I am known as The Spark and—”

“He’s a friend of mine,” Valentina said quickly, and I just smiled.

“And this is Betsy.”He pointed behind him, and I saw the short redhead standing there.

“Hi,” she said, grinning.I nodded, and so did my brothers.Betsy was completely enamored with Stefano, and I think the only reason he liked her was because she cooked for him every single day, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous.“Hey, Elise, so good to see you again.”

“Betsy, nice to see you.”Elise shook her head and then looked at Stefano.“Dude.I heard that the T-man is going to be here tonight. Are you fighting him?”

“I don’t know who I’m fighting. You know they don’t tell us until the last minute.”

“You know he plays dirty.”

“Not now, Elise,” he said, shaking his head, and she sighed.Elise did not like the fact that Stefano was an underground fighter. She thought he was risking his life and possible brain damage. While I didn’t think it was the best career choice, he could do what he wanted.“Hey, Sam.”

“Yeah?”

“Billy wanted to know if you wanted to fight tonight.”

“Who?Me?”I blinked.

“Yeah, there’s an amateur night.Ten grand on the line if you’re interested.”I could see Valentina looking at me with wide eyes.

Shane wrinkled his nose.“Fighting is so barbaric and—”

“I’m in,” I said, cutting Shane off.“Just let me know where I have to go.”

“Not you too, Sam,” Elise said.

“Hey, this is awesome,” Sergio said.“I think I’m going to put some bets in tonight.”

“Me too,” Santino said.

“I want to bet as well.”Gabriella laughed.

“Sounds good,” Sergio said.“How much?”

“A hundred dollars.”

“A hundred?”Sergio looked at her in surprise.“You’ve never been to a fight before, and you’re betting a hundred?”

“Is that a lot?”she said, giggling.Sergio looked at me with wide eyes.I knew he was wondering who these women were.Still, he knew that Valentina’s dad was made of money, so it was understandable that her best friend would also be wealthy.

“Are you sure you want to fight?”Valentina asked me, touching my shoulder.“Isn’t it dangerous?”
