Porter blinked, clearing the hazy view of his sister until she was clear. "Amy?" he whispered.

She smiled. "Yes, I'm here. I'm right here." Porter nearly collapsed into her arms and she held him tightly, her hand patting his back. "Shhh, I'm never going to leave you alone again."

The sob that tore from Porter's throat made him cling to her even harder. Amy was alive. Once again, he was in her arms taking in the scent of her shampoo that was layered under the aroma of dirt, blood, and adrenaline.

He finally pulled back and wiped his eyes. "You smell like shit."

Amy grinned. "What? You don't love this scent?" She waved a hand at her arms and he fake gagged. "Take it all in, gorgeous!"

"I hate you," he laughed and leaned against her, his heart pounding. She was safe. The happiness he felt however was dampened by the cloud that hung over his head. He straightened up and walked over to Foi. "You look like shit too. Are you okay?"

Foi shook his head. "No, not without Jaygen."

Porter nodded. "I know what you mean." He raised his head, pushing his shoulders back. "We'll just have to go and get him."

"Not tonight," Arden said. "After this they're going to be on high alert."

"But he won't survive there," Porter said, quickly deflating. "You have no idea what he's going to be up against there."

"Jaygen can handle a lot more than you think he can. No one leaves tonight." Arden's voice was stern as he looked at them. "Where's Oz and Cyrus?"

"Cy is passed out," Foi said as he sat down in a chair and sighed. "I think he overate. Ozni is getting him stripped and cleaned up most likely." He shook his head and ran a hand down his face. "I can't believe I left him behind. I'm a piece of shit."

Porter took Foi's hands in his. The pain on Foi's face made his heart ache. He reached out and ran his fingers over his furry face before he moved down and traced a hand over his arm. Clearly, he had fought hard and Porter didn't fault him for what happened.

"I'm sure you did the best you could," Porter said softly before he tilted Foi's face up. "Tomorrow I'm going with you guys and we'll get him back. He would never expect us to strike in broad daylight and that's what we're going to do."

"Are you sure?" Arden asked.

"Porter has a point," Amy pushed away from the counter before she turned on the water and let it run. She tore off a hanging bit of sleeve. "Our father thinks supernaturals only attack at night and most do. Daytime is too out in the open, too dangerous. There's a chance that we could take them when they're least expecting it."

"Not we," Porter cut in. "You're staying here with Arden. I already lost you once." He held up a finger as she protested. "I don't care. You're not going."

"She's not going and neither are you," Foi grunted as he stood up and shook his head. "Ozni, Cyrus, and I will get Jaygen back. If you come you'll be in danger and I won't allow it."

Porter narrowed his eyes at Foi. As much as he cared about the wolf, this wasn't his battle to fight on his own. And he wasn't going to let himself be left behind when Jaygen was scared, alone, and by tomorrow, hurt.

"I'm going."

"No, you're not," Foi countered.

Porter balled up his fist and slammed it into Foi's shoulder making him grunt. "I am going to get my fucking boyfriend and if anyone stands in my way, I'll rip their goddamn eyes out!" He grabbed a fistful of Foi's hair and tugged sharply until the wolf growled and went down on his knees. "Do you understand me, puppy? Jaygen is mine and so are you. If I say I'm going, then I'm fucking going."

"I can't lose you too," Foi whispered, his eyes filling with tears. "Please, don't ask me to do that, Porter. We can't live without you."

He slowly released Foi's hair and brought the man's head against his body. Foi’s shoulders shook. Porter knew how devastated Foi was that Jaygen was gone. As much as they fought and were at each other's throats, there was love there. It had been buried for a long time; hidden, lied about, but Porter could see it between the two of them and how much it had evolved and grown.

"I'm not going anywhere, Foi," he whispered. "But I know that place and my father more than anyone else. Trust me, I'm not going to be taken from you, Cyrus, Ozni, and Jaygen. I have something to live for now and it's all of you."

"Hey, what the hell am I?" Amy asked.

Porter looked up at her smiling face and his heart eased. She was busy washing her cuts and wounds in the sink, pouring water over them as she hissed. But he could see the exhaustion in her face. Amy had probably been through a hell of a lot and she wasn't going to be ready for more tomorrow.

"Arden, can you look after Amy tomorrow?" Porter asked.

The man nodded. "Yes, I can." He walked over and took Amy's arm pulling her away from the sink. "You're lucky Jaygen isn't here or he would be yelling at you about germs in his pristine kitchen sink." He smiled. "Let me take you to a room and then I have some medicine to put on those wounds."

"Thank you." Amy smiled up at Arden before she faltered. "If I'm being honest I have about ten more minutes in me before I pass out. I might have lost a bit of blood."
