Jaygen stared at him. "No."

"Isaidlet go." Porter growled. "You don't know me, Jaygen. If I wanted to hurt you, I could."

"Then hurt me." Jaygen shoved Porter back so hard he stumbled and caught himself on the cabinet. When he turned around Jaygen was unbuttoning his jacket and he let it slide down his arms. "Try your best."

"Jaygen, no," Cyrus whispered. "This is dangerous."

The blond held up a hand. "I know what I'm doing, Cy. Go over to Oz."

Cyrus looked between Jaygen and Porter before he went to Oz. The vampire wrapped an arm around Cy's shoulders and pulled him close. Porter watched Oz and Jaygen exchange looks, but whatever silent conversation they had did not stop Jaygen's advancing.

"Seriously, I don't like this," Foi growled. "Give him some space, Jaygen. He doesn't need this right now."

"Quiet, dog. This is exactly what he needs."

"I don't think-"

"Enough," Jaygen hissed, unbuttoning his sleeves before he rolled them up his forearms. "Everybody can either stay out of my way or I can fight you too."

Porter scoffed. "You're going to fight me?"

"No, I should really rephrase. There won't be a fight. It's going to be you, me and a thick leather flogger. If you need to feel the storm of shit that is currently swirling in your brain, fine. I'll give it to you. But I won't let you walk around and feel bad for yourself." He stepped forward and Porter glared at him. "I won't let you push us away, Pretty one."

"I'm warning you." Porter shook his head. "Iwillhurt you."

Jaygen looked him up and down. He felt himself being dissected by those blue eyes. And then the blond smiled.

"I think it's going to be the other way around. No, I'm sure of it. And you're going to enjoy it."

Porter panicked. He didn't want what Jaygen was offering. The pain he craved, what he knew would make him feel better and clear his head, it was wrong. It was the hell he had gone through for years with his father and he didn't want more of it.Right?

So, why did that little voice in the back of his head keep begging for it? Porter had never felt so helplessly conflicted. Jaygen stepped forward again and his senses went on high alert. In a flash, he yanked a knife out of the block and watched as the blade sliced through Jaygen's arm.

Everyone stopped all at once. Porter could hear his fast breathing, his pounding heart, but everything else was completely still. Blood blossomed on Jaygen's shirt, dying the crisp, white fabric a deep crimson before blood dripped down his arm. Oz groaned and it broke the spell.

"Now, that was very disrespectful,” Jaygen growled.

"I-I warned you," Porter's voice came out sounding more nervous than he intended. "Don't touch me, Jaygen."

Jaygen ignored him and continued to walk forward. He'd never seen a look so predatory in his life, but Porter refused to shrink. Instead, he lunged forward and sliced at Jaygen again. The knife cut his torso, a line of red further ruining his shirt.

Jaygen grinned harder. "Tickles a little." He grabbed Porter and dragged him close. "You're more talented with a knife than I thought. But I'm done playing nice."

"What are you doing? Hey!"

Jaygen's grip on his wrist was so strong Porter thought that it would break. The knife fell out of his hand, clattering onto the floor and leaving behind streaks of Jaygen’s blood. When Porter tried to fight, Jaygen bent down and stood up with Porter draped over his shoulder.

"We'll be busy for a while," Jaygen announced. "Don't disturb us and someone clean up this mess.”

Foi frowned. "I really don't think this is a good idea." He shook his head. "You know how you can get."

"I will not hurt him more than he can tolerate," Jaygen said evenly. "But if you don't move I'll deal with you first."

"Put me down!" Porter's fists drummed on Jaygen's back, but the man didn't seem to care at all. "Tell him to let me go."

He looked at Cy, Oz and Foi, but none of them could meet his gaze. Deep down, he knew no one was going to mess with Jaygen. He was unnerving on a good day and now he was downright scary. Porter couldn't squirm himself free as he was carried out of the kitchen and down the hall, into Jaygen's room. He was dumped onto the bed where he glared up at the blond.

"I'm going to respect your wishes and not touch you now. I don't have to for what I'm about to do." Jaygen walked over to his closet. "Strip down to your underwear and lie on the bed, on your stomach."
