“You wouldn’t,” Spooky groaned.

Arden took that moment to come down; his eyes were clear but Eldon could tell he was still unsure of what they’d decided. But there was no turning back. They’d all agreed that they were following Arden even if he bitched and complained the entire way.

“I’d help him, so behave,” Arden said.

Spooky batted his thick lashes. “Yes sir.”

Eldon shook his head. “You are such a cute tease,” Eldon said.

Spooky leaned against him, his black tail wrapped around Eldon’s slender waist. “I can show you how good of a tease I really am.”

Eldon’s fangs threatened to come down; his gums tingled with the need to let them loose. The thought of sinking them into Spooky’s pale skin and getting a mouthful of his hot blood made him want to drag Spooky closer.

“No eating. He might give you a stomach ache,” Gamble joked.

His brown curls were down for the first time in a long time. The night wind picked up and blew the strands back over his shoulder.

Eldon grinned at Gamble. “Are you saying that because you want to be my only source of food?”

“That isn’t fair,” Spooky said. He looked between them and climbed down before he moved closer to Eldon offering his neck. “You can drink from me too.”

Eldon’s mouth watered but the knot in his stomach twisted. “Thank you, but I ate earlier.”

Gamble’s brows dipped. “Not from me.”

“Or me,” Arden ground out.

Eldon wanted both to smile and hide. He would have never thought this would ever be his reality.

“Uh—”

“So you drink from our boss and the pothead over here but we aren’t good enough?” Bash asked.

Eldon’s mouth fell open. What the hell was he supposed to say to that?

“You could have always asked me too,” Micha whispered.

Eldon glanced over at the Nephilim. He’d been a bit down since the bar closed but he had stuck by them. And especially by Arden.

“Where did you get blood, Eldon?” Arden asked, his voice deep and demanding.

Eldon turned on his heels. “Is that really important?”

He was met with growls and Eldon was glad he was turned away from all of them as he hid his smile. “Come on, some of us can’t be in the sunlight and this drive is going to be long.” Eldon got into the truck making his way to the third row where they had blacked out the windows. He made sure his hoodie, sunglasses, and ninety-proof sunblock were in place.

There was more grumbling but the car filled up. Bash was in the front with Arden. Micha, Spooky, and Gamble sat in the second row. Pink eyes peered back at Eldon and he couldn't help but smile softly at Micha. There was something about him that made Eldon all warm and soft inside.

They waited for Arden to start the car. No one said anything as they sat there in silence. Eldon could hear every single one of their heartbeats and how fast each of them was racing. The one that was thudding the loudest was none other than the dragon.

“Are you all sure about this?” Arden finally asked, his hands tightened around the steering wheel as if he expected them to say no and run out of the car screaming.

“Are you going to look at us when you ask such a stupid fucking question? I told you we already decided,” Bash growled up at him.

Eldon muffled his laughter along with Gamble. Spooky and Micha both gawked at Bash and looked between the two hostile shifters of their group.

Arden growled and Eldon knew he needed to act fast.

“Don’t start. We are all sure or we wouldn’t be here,” Eldon said. “Now, can we please get a move on?”
