Bash cleared his throat.“We better get back to the room. Arden flipped the bed looking for you. Although I’m not sure why he would think you were hiding under there."

Micha’s eyes widened. Arden had been that worried about him? His chest filled with warmth as he thought about the dragon.

“Okay.”

But Bash didn’t let him go right away. The bear shifter's face moved closer so slowly that Micha almost didn’t understand what he was doing. But the moment his brain caught on, his pulse spiked. He didn’t hesitate as he met Bash’s lips with his own. The kiss was just as light as the one before but it had Micha’s toes curling. He pressed himself firmly against Bash’s body, running his hand over his broad shoulders over his chest, and down his rounded midsection. Micha wanted more. Arden had awakened something in him and Micha doubted he’d ever be the same.

Another growl rumbled out of Bash as he pulled back. He licked his lips and Micha's gaze cut right to them.More.

“Micha,” Bash growled.

“Yes?”

Bash shook his head and Micha swallowed back his whimper as the man moved Micha off his lap. They both stood up and Bash cleared his throat. “Come on. Pretty sure Eldon can only hold back a certain dragon for so long.”

Micha’s stomach tightened as Bash walked forward and he stayed glued in place. Bash glanced over his shoulder, his lips turned down in a frown. “Micha?”

Need to say something.

Micha opened his mouth.Bash will hate him. Who was he kidding, everyone was going to hate him.Micha slammed his mouth shut. Unable to say what he wanted to.

“You okay?” Bash asked. His gravelly voice softened for Micha’s benefit.

No. But that wasn’t an answer Micha could give without explaining why. He looked up at Bash.

“Do you really think we’re all Arden’s mates?”

Bash scratched at his face. “Fuck if I know.” He shook his head. “That’s not right. I know, but it’s a bit bizarre to wrap my head around. We're his mates.” He held out his hand and Micha took it, needing the warmth. “I can feel it. Are you still having a hard time with it?” Bash asked.

Micha shrugged.Yes and no. “It shouldn't be possible.”

“A lot of shit in this world shouldn’t be possible. Finding something as rare as what we got with Arden is a treat. I don’t get it much myself but I know this connection I feel towards him and the others isn’t flimsy. There is a magnetic draw that no amount of resistance can break.”

Micha felt the same. He rubbed at his chest. “What if one of us hurts Arden or each other?”

Bash growled. “Why?”

Micha’s hand tightened around Bash’s. “Just a thought. There are so many of us. You never know what will happen.”

Bash studied him and Micha stood still not sure what else to say. Maybe he wanted Bash to push.

“Then we will talk about it or some shit. This is all new to me too. Being with five guys at once, it’s going to be a learning curve for sure.” Bash grunted. “We are in this together.”

Micha nodded and walked with Bash. The bear shifter was including Micha although he wasn’t sure if they’d still want him once they found out what he’d done.

Bash didn't know it but he'd helped Micha make a decision, one that felt right to him. He’d talk to Janek and convince him Arden wasn’t the bad guy he once was. After he’d come clean and dealt with the consequences, he just hoped Bash was right and they’d still want Micha. If not, it was what he deserved.

The moment Michawalked back into the room hand and hand with Bash, sweet relief flooded Eldon. He’d nearly gone out there himself and risked being burnt to a crisp. Arden was no better; the dragon had torn up the room looking for Micha. If Eldon hadn’t been nearly as nervous about Micha leaving, he would have stopped Arden long before he’d gotten started. Bash volunteering to go was their only saving grace.

“Where were you?” Spooky asked.

Micha’s pink eyes roamed over each of them before they landed on Arden. Who Eldon was keeping firmly in place. It took every ounce of his vampire strength and still if the dragon wanted to get up, there was no doubt in Eldon’s mind he’d be able to.

“I couldn’t sleep and went out to get some fresh air,” Micha said.

Arden relaxed under Eldon’s hand, but the vampire couldn’t help but feel like there was something Micha wasn’t telling them. Was he hiding something?

Eldon’s head tilted as he tried to figure out what it was.
