“What do you think about when you’re with clients?”

“That I need to guide them through their fantasy.”

Eldon hummed. “That explains why you’re so confident with them. Okay, I don’t know if that will work for the real you. For now keep in mind your tone of voice, use the one that they react to. Be flirty but not overly so and take interest in their hobbies. We will start with the simple things.”

“How?”

“Try it with me.”

Micha blew out a breath and for a second he freaked out. Eldon was rock star hot! How could he keep a straight face around him? Micha shoved his panic down and bit his bottom lip.Right, be confident. Enticing. Addictive. He moved across the bed toward Eldon. The closer he came, the more his heart pounded out of his chest. Micha’s hand slipped, his feet got tangled in the bedding and he landed face first in Eldon’s lap.

Shit, he’d fucked that up.His face was aflame, and he lifted his head to say sorry, but the words never came out.

Eldon’s long fingers gripped his chin and his gray eyes looked smoky as he brought his face close to Micha’s. He held his breath in hope, but Eldon didn’t kiss him; he pulled back. His gaze cleared, and a smile was once again on his face.

“Good job.”

“I wasn't trying to do that.” Micha scrambled up, and he tried to hide the disappointment of being denied a kiss. He should have known the vampire didn’t see him that way. And he shouldn’t be looking for anything with anyone except Arden; it was his mission.

“Oh well, it was really good. Keep up the practice.” Eldon stood up and headed for the door.

Good? Was the vampire delusional? He saw the slight flash of heat sweeping over Eldon’s features as he played back his fuck up, but…no. That hadn’t turned him on, right? Who could ever be revved up by an awkward, clumsy person like him? There was nothing sexy about his little performance!

Confused, he watched as Eldon grabbed the doorknob. “You’re leaving?”

Eldon grinned at him, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “I have some more work to do. I just came in here to check on you.”

Just like that he was gone and Micha was left to wonder what the hell had happened.

* * *

He could do this;he listed the ideas Eldon had helped him come up with. As Micha made his way downstairs, he almost hoped Arden was upstairs locked away in his office. He opened the door to the main lounge area and stopped as he heard Arden talking.

Micha rolled his shoulders back. He had this, the art of seduction was easy. He made his way toward the bar but stopped short at the three newcomers. They didn’t seem like customers as Arden spoke to them. His gaze moved from them to Micha, and the angel’s breath caught.

He didn’t have this. Abort, abort.

Micha smiled weakly and gave a wave, and was about to turn around until he saw Eldon across the lounge moving things around with a tablet in hand. Micha made a beeline for the vampire, avoiding looking Arden’s way again even if he could feel the dragon’s eyes on him.

“Who are they?” Micha asked.

Eldon stopped, and the vampire lifted his gaze from the tablet. He was taking on a lot more than before, and Micha had no idea how he did it; more importantly, how did he talk to Arden without an ounce of fear?

“Who?”

Micha pointed to the three newcomers that sat at the bar.

“Oh, Arden found one of them and the other two were sent here to try out for a job.”

“He found someone?”

Eldon nodded and gave Micha all his attention. Whenever the vampire did that, Micha’s heart started to race, and he couldn’t help but fidget. It was impossible not to. Eldon made him feel safe, but when he had the man’s unwavering attention, it was almost too much. His gray eyes peered into Micha’s very soul.

It felt as if Eldon saw things in Micha he didn’t even see himself.

Micha’s tongue swiped against his bottom lip as he tried to ground himself. A soft smile appeared on Eldon’s face, and instantly, Micha was at ease. How did he do that?

The vampire looked like someone Micha would avoid at all cost, and he had tried at first, but Eldon was put together, gentle when he needed to be, smart, caring, stern when the time called for it, and all-around perfect. Nothing like Micha.
