“Okay come on—” Gamble cocked his head to the side as a look of confusion came over him.

Bash growled. “You know my name,” he snapped.

Gamble shrugged and headed toward the door. His button-up was open, displaying his chest. Bash was very much the same, his red chest hair on display, and Micha wanted to run his fingers through it. He clenched his fist to keep from doing something stupid.

“Nah, I don’t remember,” Gamble said.

Micha caught the smirk on Gamble’s face before he quickly wiped it away. He’s screwing with him.The realization made Micha bite his lip to hide the laugh that threatened to spill free.

Gamble tapped his chin as if he was in deep thought. “You can tell me your name over a quick smoke break before the night gets hectic.”

“You know you aren’t supposed to do that before work,” Bash growled, sounding very much like Arden.

“Yeah? Are you going to snitch on me like a good little pet?”

Micha looked at Eldon to see if the vampire would intervene, but he sat on Micha’s bed, watching them with a slight grin on his face. Clearly, he was entertained.

Bash took a menacing step toward Gamble. “What was that?”

Gamble didn’t bat an eye or back down. His face was blank, showing nothing. “You heard me. Pet.”

Bash growled and Micha’s heart pounded in his chest. The bear looked like he was going to eat Gamble. Why was the witch so smug looking? Micha would have already pissed himself if Bash glared at him like that.

“Gamble stop,” Eldon said.

The witch sighed. “Fine. Only because we have work to do.” He winked at the shifter. “Come on. Time for work.”

“Did you just snap at me?” Bash growled.

Gamble grinned. “Work,” he emphasized. “You can growl at me out there on the floor, Bash.”

“Fucking witch. So you do know my name?”

Gamble walked out the bedroom, not answering. A deep grumble echoed from Bash’s throat. “I’m going to kill him.”

Micha’s eyes widened as he gasped, and Bash stopped just before leaving and turned to face Micha. His lip dipped slightly. “I-”

Eldon chuckled.

Bash sighed. “Sorry.”

He left the room, and Eldon caught the door before it could close. “Come Micha.”

“I need to finish and um—”Collect himself.

Eldon’s eyes went straight to his cock, and blood rushed to his face once more. “Don’t take too long and if you need help, ask.”

Micha’s heart crashed against his ribcage. He’d keel over if Eldon touched him again. He doubted he’d be making it to work and Arden would really be upset with him. Micha didn’t want to get fired.

“No, I got it,” Micha rushed out.

Eldon groaned. “You make it hard to walk away, but I need to go check on everyone downstairs. Make sure your area is ready and don’t take too long.”

Micha nodded, not trusting his voice to betray his want.

Once the door closed, Micha let out a breath and closed his eyes. His mind was normally a tsunami of overwhelming negative thoughts, but now it was calm and peaceful. His shoulders dropped as he leaned against his dresser.

“Okay time for work,” Micha said. He wasn’t Micha, the Nephilim who was broken and worthless. He was a host at PGD with a long list of clients. He was whole; no scars marred his soul; he came from a good home. Micha repeated it until he could almost believe it. A smile stretched his lips, and he opened his eyes.
