“Matt, I can’t move in with you. I never will. Not only because of Mia, but because the last time I moved in with my lover was a huge mistake I bitterly regret.”

“No, Brenda, I’m not asking you to move in with me. Just to share it with me whenever you feel like it.”

“Ah…”

Matt opened a door. “Let me show you the bathroom.”

Stunned, Brenda examined the marble counters, the mirrored walls, the double-headed shower, and the oversized spa tub. “It’s amazing.”

“It’s comfortable,” he said with incredible humility.

“I bought these for us.” He pointed at a chair.

She reached for the pink robe and unfolded it, holding the plush material against her.

“You did all that for me? To make me comfortable?”

“I hope you’re not upset. I don’t want you to think this is all for a few hours of sex. You said you were falling in love with me. I am, too. I want to make you happy, even if we have to hide and wait two years to tell the world.”

She threw her arms around his neck. “I love you, Matt. I don’t mind hiding here with you in your luxurious suite.”

This gorgeous man was going out of his way to please her. She wanted to enjoy every minute of the time she had with him.

“Matt, here’s your robe. Put it on. Make yourself comfortable.” She pushed him to the door. “I’ll wear mine. I’ll be out in three minutes.”

“Seriously?” His blue eyes opened wide, and a large, inane grin split his face.

“Out. Let me change.”

“I’ll be waiting for you, babe.” He closed the door behind him.

Not wasting a second, she stripped and hung her clothes behind the door, before slipping on the cozy, knee-length terrycloth robe. She ran her hand over the shawl collar, enjoying its velvety texture, and then tied her belt. Shaking her head to muss her hair and spread it across her shoulders, she glanced at the mirror and laughed.

“I look like a love-starved hussy,” she murmured, a lucky one, with a special, one-of-a-kind man waiting for her.

Resolutely, she opened the door and saw him standing in front of the balcony. The room basked in the moonlight pouring in through the expanse of bay window and glass doors, enhanced by a couple of lamps in the bedroom corners.

“Matt,” she called softly.

He spun, his eyes roaming over her as he came toward her, his brown robe gaping across his chest. She stared at the muscles and flesh that had previously pillowed her head, and opened her arms.

Taking a step forward, he untied her belt, letting the robe open. Her jaw dropped and a gasp escaped her. He looked at her, his gaze burning every inch of her nudity.

She heaved a deep breath and narrowed her eyes. “My turn.”

She tugged at his belt. His robe fell aside, revealing his own nakedness and the extent of his lust. A shiver rippled through her. She wanted this man with every fiber of her being.

He smiled and gathered her against him, her curves molding to his body. “You’re so beautiful, my love.”

He smothered her lips with a fiery kiss, thrusting his tongue to meet hers.

Her hands locked around his neck, and she melted against him. “Shall we try your bed?” she whispered between kisses.

“Right away.”

He picked her up, cradled her to his chest, and carried her to the bed, gently setting her in its center. “From the day we met, every night, I’ve fantasized about having you in my bed.”
