I sigh. I’m a little disappointed he didn’t kiss me. I’m starving for him. However, I’m also glad he didn’t. It’s not time yet. This thing between us isn’t ready. Not to mention that Marcus might not be ready to give his mate the go-ahead just yet.

It’s one thing to be the filling in a Shaun and Simon sandwich, but it's another to be the filling in a Shaun, Simon and Garrett wrap. Even without our lips meeting, I can feel how much Garrett cares.

Eventually, the guys break apart from me, and Marcus comes into view. He’s standing about twelve feet away, his hands balled into fists by his sides as he glares. Is he angry again at the guys for touching me? I thought he was handling things better last night, but maybe I was wrong.

Right now, Marcus is akin to a charging bull. His face is red, and if this were a cartoon, he’d have steam shooting from his nostrils. Then he charges, storming up to me, bending down, and he throws me over his shoulder like a sack of fucking potatoes.

“Hey!” I squeal, which earns me a sharp slap on the arse. It’s a firm slap, and I don’t hate it.

“Grady! What the fuck are you doing?” Simon calls, and I try to find him in my upside-down state, but I can’t get my bearings as Marcus walks us somewhere.

“Fuck off!” Marcus hisses over his other shoulder, not missing a step to wherever the hell he is taking me.

A minute later, after watching the earthy, gravelly path pass by, I find myself the right way up, being pushed against the smooth trunk of a gum tree.

“Don’t do that again, Rhee.” Marcus cages me in, his hands on either side of my head as he leans in close. “Don’t go off alone when you’re feeling low and vulnerable. Trustusto take care of you.Please.”

His dark brown eyes swim with so much emotion as he pins me in place, so I nod in agreement.

“Why couldn’t you say that in front of the others, Marc?”

His eyes widen, and he shifts back a little, but he’s not letting me go.

“I’m not ready to share what we have with them. You gotta give me time.”

I nod again, understanding that this is hard for him to wrap his head around.

“Say it again.” He demands quietly, and my brows draw together in confusion.

“Say what?”

“Marc. You’ve never called me that before. No one ever calls me that. Say it again.”

A smile tugs at my lips. “Marc.”

His eyes flutter shut, and he moans. “I like that, Rhee. I really like it.”

When his eyes flutter open again, I lean forward and press my lips to his.

“Marc.” I nip at his lips, extracting another moan. “Marc.”

He presses into me, leaving no space between us, and he deepens our kiss. Desperation takes over, and I claw my fingers into his thick dark hair, tugging not so gently, and in return, he does the same to me. Minutes pass as we grapple at each other, and then he pulls back panting, his lips puffy from our kiss.

“I wanna fuck you against this tree.”

“Yes, Marc. Fuck me right here.”

“No.” He shakes his head, his expression confused as he takes a step back. “Not yet. You need more time to heal.”

“I’ll be fine.” I reach out and grip his t-shirt, attempting to tug him back against me. It’s no use, though. He stands strong, his expression torn.

“No, Rhee. Let’s give it a bit more time. When I sink inside you again, I want no distraction. No time limit. Just you and me.”

I nod. “Ok. We can do that.”

“So, maybe we can have a date night or something?” Marcus’ face turns red as he asks. OMG, is he blushing?

“Sure. We can have a date night. But you know, if I give you a date night, I have to give the others a date night, too.”
