He steps forward, closing the space between us and caging me in against the wall with his good arm.

“I can’t do what I want to do yet, Kitten. You’re still healing.”

“There are some things I can do,” I whisper, craning my head back to lock eyes with him as he hovers close, our lips a breath apart.

“No.” He rasps. “Not here.”

I pout.

“But,” he grins, “I will steal a kiss.” He sweeps down and presses his lips to mine.

My hands grip his shirt, tugging him closer, and he growls into my mouth as he tries to play nice and hold himself back. I want him to give in and just go with this, but I know he’s trying to be respectful. I just really fucking miss him.

Our lips are searing against each other. The kiss turning hot and heavy in no time. He presses his body flush against mine, and I can feel his arousal through the barrier of our clothing. I grind my needy Kitty against his thigh, and I was hoping the action would push him over the edge to step inside the powder room with me.

Apparently not.

“Kitten.” He rasps quietly, pulling back from me and biting his lower lip. “I fucking love you. I ache for you like you can’t believe. I just don’t want to risk things when we are so close to being free to be together.”

I pout. “I miss you so much. Kitty misses your dick, and my body misses your hands, and my lips miss your kisses.”

“And my heart misses your heart, Rhys.”

My playfulness slips away as my emotions rise to the surface at his words.

“My heart misses your heart too, Ty.”

He presses his forehead to mine, cupping my face and sweeping his big thumb across my flaming cheek. “We just need to be patient. We will be together again before you know it.”

Slowly, I nod, knowing he is right, but selfishly wanting it all right this minute.

“I should go.” He pulls back, dropping his hand from my cheek. “Your photo portfolio really is beautiful. You should definitely keep taking photos.”

I blush at his praise and nod a little, feeling uncharacteristically shy all of a sudden.

“Thank you.”

He chuckles. “That was hard for you, wasn’t it? Accepting the compliment?”

My eyes narrow, and I slap his good shoulder playfully, causing him to laugh.

He gestures his head back towards the passage that leads to the entry of my house, and I sigh in defeat, scuffing my feet on the tiles as we exit the darkened passage. My eyes won’t leave the sight of his face, so my first realisation that there’s something wrong is when his face pales.

“Good decision, Tyler.” My mum’s voice is like a cold bucket of water, and my eyes dart to the side to see her giving Ty a stern look as she stands in the passage with her arms folded over her chest.

“Mum? Were you eavesdropping? What if we…”

“I would have stopped it before you did anything more, Rhys.” She snaps, not at all happy.

“Uh, Cynthia. Sorry… I-.”

“I know exactly what happened.” My mum snaps again, shifting her gaze from Tyler to give me a pointed look.

“I miss him,” I whisper, my emotions flaring to the surface, and my eyes plead with her to not make a big deal out of this.

She’s quiet for a moment, but sighs and drops her arms to her sides. “I invited Tyler today because I know how much you miss him, and I wanted him to be a part of this special day for you. It doesn’t mean I can turn a blind eye to certain things, though, Rhys. All I ask is that you please wait until you are of legal age to be with him inthatway.”

I nod, shooting my wet eyes to the floor, feeling like the child I am in the presence of two adults.
