“Have you thought any more about what I asked the other night, Dad?” Shaun asks as he leads me to sit at the kitchen bench and hands me one of the delicious-smelling cookies. I take it eagerly, biting into it, the sweet flavour bursting on my tongue, nearly causing a moan to escape.

As Shaun takes a seat on one side of me, and Marcus on the other, Garrett leans over my head and takes his own cookie, hovering behind my chair.

“Still thinking,” Allan mumbles, moving to the fridge to pull out a carton of juice.

“Do you need anything done today? I could show Simon a few things. Start training him up now.”

Allan turns from the fridge to glare at Shaun. “And who is going to pay for his schooling?”

Shaun shrugs. “We will figure it out.”

“Are your parents going to pay for that?” Allan turns to face Simon, who I think was hoping to be left out of the conversation.

“Um… no. Not exactly.”

“Right, so how do you think you are going to afford school? If you work here, I can’t pay you. It’s board and food in exchange for working on the farm. It’s not easy work, boy. And you’re a bit scrawny looking.”

Gabriella growls something at Allan, pointing her wooden spoon at him with a furious look on her face, and Allan pales.

“We aren’t a charity, Carino. We are struggling as it is.” Allan approaches his wife with tenderness in his eyes, and I feel like I should look away.

“Mr Bossier… Sir. I’m not asking for charity. I will work hard for you to earn my keep, and I’m sure after a while of working here, I won’t look so scrawny.” Simon runs his hand through his longish hair. “As for school. I’ve already contacted Fox Pines High. As long as I can cover the costs of any school books, I don’t have to pay tuition fees in public school. I will do my final year of school there.”

I stop mid-chew, taking in Simon’s words. He’s already looked into this? Even through all the bullshit I brought into his life, he’s been busy trying to figure this out on his own. As I stare at my adorable clown, I see the confident glint in his eyes. He’s determined to stay here. Determined to make it work somehow.

Allan remains quiet for a moment, glaring at Simon, and then nods. “I’ll think some more about it.” Then he turns his gaze back to his son. “You lot may as well start cleaning up the staff quarters… Just in case.”

Gabriella grins wide, turning her gaze to look up at Simon, and nudges her shoulder into his ribs. When Simon looks down at her, he smiles wide too, and they turn back to the stove.

We linger around the kitchen for a while, watching Simon cook with Gabriella. Turns out he actually knows what he’s doing. I hadn’t really thought much about where the food came from the night I went to his place for dinner, and he had a feast set up in the kitchen. Did he cook that himself? And why is that thought so sexy?

Images of chef Simon flash in my head, and I smile wide. Hell yes, that is sexy. I want chef Simon to cook for me.

“What are you thinking about, Kitten?” Shaun whispers in my ear, and I shoot him a sideways glance.

“Chef Simon.”

Shaun chuckles. “You like the thought of chef Simon?”

“Hell yes.” I grin, and Marcus chuckles on my other side.

“And what about that scenario do you like, Rhee?”

I grin wider and lower my voice. “So much delicious food play.”

“So our girl likes food play and blood play. What else do you like, Baby Girl?” Garrett’s husky whisper in my ear sends a shiver up my spine.

“Foot play, toy play, role play… as long as it isn’t nurses,” I whisper back, and I can feel the guys stiffen around me at the mention of that touchy subject.

“What about butt play?” Shaun leans in, speaking quietly after the tense moment passes and my grin returns.

“Maybe a little bit of butt play,” I whisper back, shrugging as I turn to my Casanova, and he closes the distance, sealing his lips to mine. It’s a short and quiet kiss because I’m sure the last thing he wants is to gain his mum’s attention right at this moment, but it’s a kiss that holds promises, and for the first time in days, I start to relax, feeling more like myself.

Even though things aren’t perfect, my situation is looking up. Julie has been exposed. The cops will get to her soon, and I’ll have one less psycho predator trying to bring me down. Things aren’t great at home, but if I consider how circumstances had been at my other foster homes compared to my current overprotective parents, then I shouldn’t really complain. Are they even overprotective? I don’t really know. I don’t have much to compare them to. Maybe they are just protective. Because they care.

I care about them too. So much more than I thought I would let myself. And I’d be happy to compromise. I understand that I can’t just run off and do whatever. There are rules with everything, but there are just some things I can’t live without, and unfortunately, my need to push boundaries and try new things is what makes most people uncomfortable.

That’s why I needed a sex club. I needed to sneak around and keep it secret because most people just don’t understand. Now my mum has involved the police. She has no idea who she’s messing with, no idea that the people she’s trying to expose have friends in high places. It’s quite possible that if Master Hill starts getting heat about a sex club that allowed minors to partake in activities, he will pull strings and destroy my parents. I don’t want that. I’d sooner die than let him ruin them, too.
