Epilogue

Steel

Igrabbed my cut off the back of the chair and swung it over my shoulders, heading for the stairs. The last three months have been one helluva ride. One I can hardly believe I got to experience. Allie, my sweet Allie has barely left my side in all that time. She’d learned the ropes of all our dealings, met many of the hard men we dealt with and held her own the whole way.

We both sat on the same line about drugs and it was great to have someone at my back willing to fight the devil to clean the streets of that shit.

An angel with a spine of steel. I liked the sound of that.

“Have you seen Allie?” I grabbed a club candy by the shoulder and stopped her as she walked through the back kitchen door. When I woke this morning, Allie wasn’t beside me as usual. Her sun-streaked hair wasn’t covering my chest. And it chilled me to the core. I was probably being paranoid as she called me from time to time, but when all that greeted me was an empty room after months of her affection, I couldn’t help it.

“Huh, this…uh…this came just now.” Her words were slurred and choppy.

The girl, no older than my Allie held out a piece of paper, her hands shaky, her face ghost white.

I grabbed it out of her hands and when my fingers came back with red on it, my vision zeroed in on details I skimmed over at first. The fact the girl in front of me was on her knees now, bleeding all over the floor and the fact the note in my hand was a ransom.

Allie is such a lovely little angel. Want her back, the price is your life, your club, your territory.

It was already a done deal in my book. My life for her.

My senses honed in, my blood rushing.

But my men; their lives. I couldn’t barter them away. I owed my brotherhood more than that. But I owed Allie too.

I took the stairs three at a time and pointed myself down the opposite hallway of my room.

Standing in front of a black door, I slammed a foot through an oak door, the hinges giving and the wood cracking wide open.

Bishop jumped up in bed, hand on his gun. I didn’t do anything but dare him to pull the trigger.

Seconds knocked off both our lives as Bishop’s eyes focused and he lowered the gun.

“What the fuck do you have against my door?”

“They took Allie. Wake the fuck up, grab the guys, war with the Dark Wraths has finally come and I’m going to take souls to hell with me today.” I tossed the bloodied note on his chest. “Blood for blood. Get ready to meet the devil today, my friend. He’s finally come knocking.”
