It's well over two hours later when we finally make our way back to the house. Mia is shivering despite the fact that she's wrapped in my jacket. We spent a little too long rolling around naked after the sun dropped below the tree line, and both of us are covered in grass stains and smeared in mud, but we don't care about any of it. As we push through the front door, both of us are wearing wide smiles on our faces, and more importantly, Mia's wearing my ring.

"What the hell happened to you two?" Brandon asks with his brows raised when we stop by the kitchen for a drink. Everyone else turns our way with amused expressions on their faces.

"Oh… uh…" Mia looks back at me, her cheeks burning bright red with embarrassment.

"She said yes," I say, lifting her hand to show them her new jewelry.

"Fuck. You proposed?" Alex barks, his eyes wide with shock.

"Sure did. Every king needs a queen, don't you think?"

"Fuck man, you're certifiable, you know that, right?" Tim asks with a laugh while Fawn rushes over to congratulate Mia and inspect the ring.

"I'm pretty sure we can all claim that title. Shit’s gonna get easier from here on out. It's time to decide what you really want for your futures."

"Dinner will be in thirty minutes," Mulligan informs us, emerging from the pantry.

"We'll be back," I say, pulling Mia into my arms and leading her from the kitchen so we can shower.

"It's really going to be okay, isn't it?" she asks once we're both naked again and standing under the spray of the shower.

"Yes, baby. It is."

Wrapping my hand around the back of her neck, I push her up against the cold tiles and claim her lips.

Safe to say, we're a little late for dinner.

"Here he is," I say lifting my beer into the air just over a week later as Sasha helps a still-healing Channing into our den. Despite his insistence that he's totally fine, she attempts to support him as he drops onto the couch opposite us.

"It's so fucking good to be home," he sighs as he sinks into the cushions.

"Good to have you back, man." I hand him a beer, earning myself a scowl from Sasha.

"He can't have that. He's still on medication."

"Since when do you care about mixing meds with alcohol?" Channing deadpans.

Her face pales a little, because really, she doesn’t have a leg to stand on but still she manages to find an argument. "Since you've been shot and nearly died."

"I can have one. The pain meds aren't even that strong."

Sasha fumes as he makes a show of twisting the top off and tipping it to his lips.

Laughing at the two of them, I pull Mia tighter into my side and drop a kiss to the top of her head as Channing cuts off Sasha's complaints by shoving his tongue in her mouth.

"Ugh, I'm not sure I'm ever going to be okay with seeing that," Brandon mutters as he emerges with Ashton and Alex.

"But it's okay for me to have to see you with your cock down some whore's throat?" she barks, pulling back from Channing.

"You love it," he says, flipping her off.

"Fuck off. The only one here who gets off on watching his sibling going at it is Ashton."

Mia tenses before me as the memory of what Sasha is talking about slams into her, but she soon relaxes. All of that is long over, and thankfully, Brook actually does have a brain cell or two because she's kept well away from all of us since Cade's disappearance.
