Easton chuckles and stands up. “Don't worry. I have class anyway.”

He puts his cup in the sink, says goodbye to both of us, and heads out the door.

The second I'm alone with Zayn, I start to panic. A part of me wonders if I should bring it up, but that only gives him the opportunity to act like it meant nothing, just like he did after the first time we hooked up. Maybe I'm better off beating him to the punch. Would it hurt less if I'm the one who hits the breaks?

Who am I kidding? No, it wouldn't.

Before I can think myself into a total anxiety attack, two strong arms wrap around my waist and Zayn presses a kiss to my cheek. I melt into his touch, leaning my head back against his shoulder.

“God, it was so hard not to touch you,” he whines.

Just like that, my every nerve ending comes alive. “I don't know. Didn't look like too much of a struggle.”

“Only because I wouldn't let myself look at you. Otherwise, I would have been done for.”

I spin in his hold and wrap my arms around his neck. “How done for?”

He smirks. “One look and he would have known. You're all I fucking think about, Meelz.”

Arching up on my tiptoes, I kiss him softly, and he hums into it as he immediately responds. His large hand splays over most of my lower back, and he moves the other to grip my hair. He tilts my head to the side and deepens the kiss. It's just as passionate as last night, only this time it's for no reason other than because we can.

When he finally breaks the kiss, he grunts and leans his forehead against mine. “Can't we just spend the whole day in bed?”

“And skip class again?” I question. “I'm starting to think you're a bad influence.”

An eager grin stretches across his face. “The worst.”

I kiss him once more and then push him back lightly with a hand on his chest. “Tempting, but I have an exam today.”

He sighs in defeat. “Well, then at least let me bring you to class.”

Grabbing his keys in one hand and my books in the other, he drapes an arm around me and leads us to the door. When he even goes as far as opening the car door for me, I narrow my eyes on him.

“This is just a ploy to fuck me in your car, isn't it?”

I can practically see the lightbulb go on. “No, but that's not a bad idea.”

And yeah, I might have teased him a little too much on the way to campus.

ALL THROUGHOUT CHEER PRACTICE, I can't manage to keep the smile off my face. After this morning, it's like nothing can bring me down. When I wasn't busy taking my exam, I spent all class thinking about Zayn. It's like we finally crossed that line, and neither of us has any intentions of looking back.

Kennedy watches me curiously while we run through all our cheers. When we finally get a break, I go to take a sip of my water bottle. She walks in front of me and squints.

“Is that a hickey?” she asks.

My eyes widen. “What? Where?”

I look down but don't see anything. It isn't until Kennedy starts laughing that I realize I just played right into her hand. I sigh heavily and shake my head.

“I hate you.”

That only makes her giggle more. “You really don't.”

I hope she'll drop the subject here, but silly me. This is Kennedy. There isn't a chance in hell of her letting me leave this gym without telling her every last detail I'm willing to spill.

“Please tell me it was Zayn,” she begs. “Because if you tell me you got back with Blade, I may have to hit you.”

“Ew, does that even require asking?” Even the thought of it makes me cringe.
