“Good, good,” she pulled me into a hug, “I had such an amazing time today. Thank you for the girls' day.”

I couldn't help but smile, the worst part of all of this when it is over, might just be losing her. “I should be thanking you. It was a great day.”

She pulled me into a hug. “Alright, I will see you in the morning. Please text me when you get home safely.” She turned to Luka, “I do not want to see your face right after your fight.”

Franco stood up, offering his arm to Voralie, “I will walk you out. Goodbye boys.”

“Well, should we go too?” Gia asked.

Luka glanced at his watch, “yes, I should probably go and get ready. I need to grab my duffle bag from the SUV, I almost forgot.” He leaned over and kissed my cheek, “I will meet you guys out front.” He stood up and took off.

I took one last sip of my drink and then stood.

“I am going to hit the bathroom before we go,” Arturo announced, “I’ll meet you out front as well.”

Gia turned to me. “Ready?”

I nodded and followed her towards the front of the restaurant. We stood off to the side, she leaned up against the building and looked at me smiling.

“What?” I asked.

“Luka seems to really like you.”

I started to shake my head and roll my eyes but stopped myself. I didn’t know this girl and we promised we would keep up appearances, so I lied. “Well, I am his wife.”

“True, but he didn't exactly choose that now, did he?”

I shook my head, “no, neither of us did.”

“Yet, when he looks at you,” she stopped looking at me. “I think he is in love with you. Are you in love with him?” She took a step closer to me, invading my space.

“I uh,” I crossed my arms over my chest, “I don’t know. I mean we’ve only known each other for like 2 weeks.”

She smiled and took a step back. “Well judging by the shade of your cheeks right now, I would say you are feeling something.” She sighed and leaned back against the wall. “Those Rossi boys are good-looking, even Stefano looks damn good for a guy in his fifties.”

I leaned next to her, “I didn’t know Voralie and Stefano were in their fifties.”

“Vora isn't, she’ll be fifty next year. But Stefano is, let me see,” she looked down at her fingers counting, “fifty -four I guess, he and grandpa are the same age.”

I nodded, working that all out in my head. “You, Luka, and Arturo are close?”

“Yeah, I guess you could say that we kind of grew up together, their dad and my grandpa are close. Plus, dad is only like ten years older than Arturo, so they are close too, good friends. It’s really weird, isn’t it?”

“A little, I figured your grandpa was your dad’s older brother when he walked up and then assumed your dad was your brother at first.”

She laughed, “yeah that happens all the time.” She lifted her chin, “here comes your boy now.”

I turned to see Luka walking across the street, a duffle bag over his shoulder. He kissed my cheek, “you ready?” He looked around, “where’s my brother.”

“I’m here,” Arturo said, walking out of the front door.

“Alright then, I am parked around the back,” we followed Gia around to a black sports car, I had no idea what it was.

“Why Gia, you’re driving a beamer now?” Luka smiled, shoving her on the shoulder.

She looked at Arturo, “yup.”

Arturo looked at her, “you should let me drive.”
