“I should probably go check in with my parents,” said Noah, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

Luisa looked up at him. “Before you do, there’s something I want to talk to you both about.”

“Go ahead,” I said when Noah pulled a chair over from in front of the cottage.

“There are two things. First, finishing my degree. Press said he thought my professors might let me do the last few assignments and exams independently, given the reason I was gone.”

“I’m sure they would.” I looked over at Noah, who nodded.

“What was the other thing?” I asked.

Luisa looked from me to Noah. “Press said his uncle or your uncle or someone’s uncle owns a ranch in Mexico.”

I put my hand on hers and squeezed. “We stayed there when we were first looking for you.”

“The man who owns it is Brix Avila’s uncle,” Noah clarified.

“Press also said it’s magical.”

I smiled. “He did?”

“Mom said the same thing about it.”

I was surprised she had. “So, what about it?”

“Press said he could take us there in his plane if we wanted to go.”

“Press has been a busy guy,” Noah said under his breath. I looked over at him and smiled.

Luisa squeezed my fingers like I had hers. “I want to go, and I know you’ll have a fit unless you go too. Then, when we get back, I’ll finish out my classes.”

“Have you brought this up to Mom?”

“I asked her about the ranch, but not about visiting. I figured you’d be the harder one to convince.”

When Noah laughed, I reached over and smacked his leg. “Hush, you.”

Luisa pulled a phone out I hadn’t realized she had. “Hang on. It’s Press. Be right back.” She went inside the house.

“What do you think about this thing with my sister and Press?” I whispered.

“This thing? Do you think it’s a thing?”

“Did you hear how many times she said his name? Press said this. Press said that. Press hung the moon.”

He chuckled. “He has been spending a lot of time with her.”

“Why?”

“I think he feels a certain responsibility for your sister. He was there when she was rescued. He and I talked about it once and agreed his protective instincts were on overdrive. Does it bother you?”

“Not really, but…I’m worried she’s going to get attached to him. Then his girlfriend will fly in from Australia like Beau’s.”

Noah shook his head. “I assure you, Press does not have a girlfriend.”

“Not really the point, my love.”

He got up from the chair and sat beside me. “You wanna know what I think?”

“I do.”

“I think it would be the perfect place for a wedding.”
