“Just say it, Iain, and do it quickly. You’re exasperating,” Yesenda snapped.

“All right, calm down, woman.”

Then Yesenda saw red. “Calm down? You want me to calm down?”

“Aye, you’re getting yourself worked up for no reason.”

“No reason? No reason?” she screeched.

“Yesenda! Why are you yelling at me like a banshee? I’ve come here to tell you something very important.”

Her patience done, her composure went out the window when Yesenda shouted, “I’m yelling at you because you’re a bloody idiot! That’s why. You’re a stupid fool who cannot ken his head from his ass.”

Iain paused and blinked at her in confusion as she carried on.

“And despite all that, I still love you! But do you care? Not one bit. I’ve been lying in this bloody bed for days and you abandoned me. Discarded me like a rotten piece of cabbage. Oh but now that I’m well, you come in here just to tell me you’re leaving me because I got Liosa killed?”

So caught up in her tirade, she failed to notice his entire body lock, and his eyes softened.

“Love, I dinnae blame you—”

Yesenda continued, “Well, guess what, Iain Henderson, you can rot in hell and take your stupid flowers with you!” She picked them up off the bed and threw them at him, then folded her arms and glared.

Iain rose from his chair and sat down beside her on the bed. Nudging her so he could fit on the edge.

“Get off my bed. You’re taking up all the room.”

She continued to glare at him. When he said, “Have you finished, love? Can I speak now?”

“Do what you want Iain, I dinnae care anymore.” She sniffed.

“You still love me?” he asked.

Her face went red, and she hissed, “Out of everything I just said, that’s all you heard?”

Before she could continue, Iain cupped her face and kissed her soundly on the lips. Yesenda stiffened, but he was persistently seeking entry with his tongue. She sighed and returned the kiss for all it was worth. Yesenda figured if this was the last time she was going to see this man, she would steal enough to last a lifetime.

Iain whispered across her lips, “I came here to tell you I love you, and I am sorry it was my fault they attacked you. I dinnae blame you for anything. I am just sorry I stayed away and caused you even more pain.”

“Wait, so you’re not leaving me?”

“Never. If you had let me speak instead of screeching at me, I would have explained it already.”

“I dinnae screech.”

“Let’s not ruin this moment arguing about your bellowing.”

She glared at him, then just shook her head.

“Iain gently picked her up and placed her on his lap, then he kissed her some more.”

Iain’s Cottage, Henderson Land

“Iain! Ooh, right there. Just. Like. That!” Yesenda shouted in pleasure.

She was on her hands and knees while Iain was pounding her from behind. His large hands gripped her breasts for purchase as he plunged his engorged length in and out of her.
