Rubble moved toward the motorcycles in the parking lot with Brewer walking alongside him. “You got somebody watching your girl?”

“She’s not—” Brewer stopped there. Delphiwashis. Maybe not officially or technically, but he’d seen the way she came undone under his touch and felt her body tighten with passion. Delphi was his goddess. “Yeah, one of the prospects. I’ll relieve him at three this afternoon.”

“Good. I’m itching for the open road, and you look like you could use a few miles too.”

They reached the bikes and strapped on their helmets before starting the engines. The motorcycles purred, glad to be rid of the safe and cozy garage they stayed in during hibernation. It was more than time to start the riding season.

He’d get Delphi on the back soon enough. For now, he followed Rubble to the street. Macha had to come first. He just hoped when the time came, he could uphold that oath.

CHAPTER24

DELPHI

BREWER: WHERE ARE YOU?

Delphi eyedthe text message and wiped her floury hands on her pink apron.

Delphi: The bistro kitchen. Why?

Her mind spun to the possibility that something was wrong.

Brewer: Can you slip away for a bit?

She glanced at Edgar currently playing solitaire on his phone. The dinner rush was two hours away. If she wanted, she could sneak out.Especially if Brewer is involved. Her skin heated at the memories the redheaded biker enticed.

Delphi: Since you asked so nicely.

Brewer: Great. Grab a jacket and meet me out front.

A giddy sensation filled her gut. Without even asking, she already knew he was on his motorcycle.

“Edgar, I’ll be back for dinner.”

Edgar looked up and nodded. “No problem. I can handle tonight if you need me to.”

She hung up the apron. “I’ll keep that in mind and text you.”

The older man waved her out of the kitchen, and she eagerly hurried up the stairs to her apartment. After quickly fixing her hair and washing the flour from her cheek, Delphi changed into an outfit befitting a biker chick. She nodded at her reflection. Or at least, this was what she imagined a biker chick looked like.

Hustling down the steps, she opened the door and hid a smile. Brewer sat astride his motorcycle, sunglasses hiding his eyes. The typical jeans and hoodie under his cut were almost to be expected by now. A teasing grin on his kissable lips stood out beneath his neatly trimmed beard.

“Where are we going?” she asked when she closed the distance to him.

Brewer handed her a helmet. “For a ride.”

She buckled the helmet and easily mounted the motorcycle. “That’s what I usually do when you’re around.”

He reached back and tickled her side, starting the engine with his free hand. “Keep it up, sweet cheeks. See where that gets you.”

Delphi’s laughter was drowned out by the bike. She loosely laced her arms around Brewer’s waist and kissed the back of his neck. No matter where they were headed, she was certain they’d have an intensely fun time.

* * *

The winding roadssurrounding Snowshoe kept Delphi’s arms glued to Brewer’s waist. She couldn’t complain. In fact, she rather liked feeling his muscles jerk slightly whenever she slid her hands up his torso.

They reached the club’s mountain retreat much too quickly for her liking. Walking toward the large log cabin, Delphi pushed up her sunglasses.

“Have you ever seen it?” Brewer asked coming up beside her.
