Instead of answering, she jumped off and rested the helmet on the back of the Harley. “Come on. I want to show you something.”

She turned to see his apprehensive face, but he followed her nonetheless. A giddy laugh bubbled inside her and she tamped it down. The entire lot was filled with lit tea candles. A lone table sat in the middle with two chairs accompanying it.

“Delphi?” Brewer’s brows rose. “Did I forget an anniversary?”

“Nope.” She chuckled and led him to the table. Pastries filled the center along with two plates and glasses ready for use. “But I’d like to make an anniversary starting tonight.”

“For what?”

They both sat down, and Delphi felt the flutter of butterflies in her stomach. “I’d like to officially move in with you. I understand your role in the club is more important now, but I’d like to be there when you fall asleep and wake up.”

Brewer leaned forward in his chair, blue eyes twinkling with mischief. “That is a good idea, but—”

“But?”

He grabbed her hands and kissed the tops. “But I want something more permanent.” He looked around the grass, the candles flickering in the wind. “And damn if you didn’t set it up perfectly.”

Delphi’s palms started to sweat. She suddenly needed a drink to calm her nerves.

Brewer fished something out of his pants and stood up, taking her with him. “Delphi Windsor, you’re the only woman for me. From the first time I set eyes on you, I knew it too.” His gaze searched hers. “And I don’t want to lose you—ever. Marry me, Delphi, because I want to have babies with you and get old and cranky together someday.”

She laughed, and tears filled her eyes. “Did you seriously just say you wanted to be cranky with me?”

He kissed her forehead. “Fuck yeah. There’s nothing more romantic than two old people yelling at kids to get off their lawn.”

He did have a point. It wasn’t the best or most romantic of proposals for some people, but it was perfect and honest, and one she couldn’t say no to even if she wanted to.

Brewer chuckled and knelt. “All right, fine. I’ll do it the club way.” He held up a diamond ring. “Be my old lady, Delphi. I swear I’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe. You’ll always be loved by me.”

The tears she’d been holding back rushed forth and she nodded. “Yes. Yes, to both.”

Standing back up, Brewer kissed her until the sounds of the night air became mere background noise. When he pulled back, Delphi swore under her breath.

“Get used to more kisses like that, old lady,” Brewer said, pinching her ass. “I save the best for last.”

Giggling, she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Then kiss me again, Brewer.”

“Whatever you say, sweet cheeks.”

Delphi sighed into his embrace. He wasn’t the man she expected to settle down with, but he was the man who had stolen her heart and challenged her every step of the way. Brewer slowly lowered them onto the grass, his lips never leaving her skin. If this was the standard for all Macha men, she was damned lucky to be part of the club.

Brewer nipped her bottom lip, making her gasp. She could get used to being worshipped on the daily. Macha was to thank for many things that went right in Snowshoe, but Delphi would forever be grateful to the goddess for the gift of Brewer.Maybe being a president’s wife won’t be so bad after all.
