I’m grinning as I lean in closer. “Because, Laney,” I tease, my voice low. “They are completely edible.”
She bursts out laughing again, shaking her head as she says, “Of course they are.”
“I have something else for you,” I whisper, my mouth against her ear.
She looks up at me, a brow raised and a cheeky smirk on her face. “Oh yeah and what’s that?”
I give her a wink as I say, “Well, it’s actually on me, so you need to find it.”
Turning to face me, she gives me a quick once over. “On you huh?” she says, flattening her hands against my chest.
“Yep,” I say with a nod. “So full permission to search me.”
She shakes her head, but she’s smiling as she moves her hands slowly upwards. “Close?”
I shake my head, smiling as she stops, before sliding her hands lower. “Getting warmer,” I murmur, my body already tingling as her hands move down over my stomach. “Warmer.”
My heart’s pounding in my chest as she reaches the waistband of my sweats, hooking her fingers in them and pulling them toward her. I’m not wearing any boxers underneath so she immediately gets a good look at what I’ve done.
Delaney lets out a breathy laugh, looking back up at me, her bottom lip between her teeth. “This is for me?” she whispers, mock surprise in her voice as her eyes flick briefly down to my dick and the bow I’ve tied around it.
“For you,” I confirm, a low groan rumbling in my chest as she reaches her other hand inside, curling her fingers around me.
“And it’s all mine?” she asks, her words husky and low as she runs her tongue over her top lip.
“All yours,” I confirm, my eyes practically rolling back in my head as she slowly moves her hand. “Only yours.”
“Only mine,” she repeats, pushing up on her toes as she brushes her lips against mine. “I think I like this gift, Alex.”
My hands move to her hips, pulling her closer as I kiss her again, harder this time. “Laney,” I growl, nipping her bottom lip.
“Yeah?”
I slide my hands up her sides, under the flannel to her breasts. “Open your damn present.”
We’re lying backon the mattress, both of us naked after she did as I asked and took the bow off my dick and made full use of the second gift I’d given her. “What’s the first thing you’re gonna do when we get out of here?” she asks, breaking the peaceful silence.
I smile, running my fingertips slowly up and down her spine as she lies against me. “Shower, hot tub, bed. All with you and all involving what we’ve just spent the last hour doing.”
She laughs, pressing a kiss to my chest. “Fucking?”
“Yep,” I say with a nod. “One hundred percent.”
“So, we’re going to keep doing this when we get out of here?”
I turn my head so I can meet her gaze. “Yeah, Laney, we are. Is that okay with you?”
She nods, even as she says, “Even if we couldn’t make it work last time?”
I wave a hand as though to dismiss her worries. “That was different,” I tell her. “This time, everything will be fine.”
“Will it?” she asks, and I don’t miss the doubt in her voice, the tiny edge of fear that makes me think she doesn’t quite believe me.
I tighten my arm around her, pulling her close as I plant a hard kiss on her mouth. “Yes, Laney, it will,” I tell her. “I know I was dick before and I know I fucked up. But this is what I want.Youare what I want.”
“I want this too,” she admits, her words barely audible. “It’s just…” she trails off, not giving a voice to whatever else she’s worried about.
