I’ve known this man before me since I was fifteen, and I want to know him for the rest of my life. He’s my best friend, my love, my home. He’s everything, and I’m willing to take the risk if he’s all in.

Liam pulls his lips from mine.

“Oh, and Birdie?” His tone is playful and grin cheeky.

“Mmmhmm,” I hum.

“I like you like that.”

I throw my head back and let out a silent laugh.

“You better, Liam Miller. You better.”

Epilogue

Liam

ONEYEARLATER

Birdie screams ridiculously as Wren’s wedding bouquet lands in her arms. I can’t tell if it’s a happy scream or a scared one, but it makes me chuckle.

“You next, man.” Ben appears beside me, slapping my back. “I’m surprised you don’t already have a ring on that woman’s finger.”

“Birdie and I are happy as we are. We’re not ones for labels.”

Ben scoffs. “You two are stuck together like glue. Hell, you’re practically married anyway.”

He’s right. I can’t remember the last time I was away from Birdie. Her band calls us the Conjoined Couple. Kevin even gifted us with T-shirts last Christmas. Birdie just rolled her eyes when she opened them, but secretly I loved it. We spent ten years away from each other and I’m never letting her go again.

Birdie skips over to Ben with a silly grin on her face. Her dark hair is curled today, and it bounces as her emerald dress flows out behind her. She looks like a siren in it. Wren had it designed for her, so it fits her delicious body like a glove. I can’t help but watch her breasts bounce from the deep V as she stops in front of us. My love for Birdie is strong, but my love for her boobs come in a very close second (though Birdie might tell you they’re in first).

She leans forward and plants a kiss on my lips.

“Nice bouquet,” I comment, causing her cheeks to flush. I love that I can still do that. I also love watching other parts of her turn the same color. God, my little brain is ready and raring to go. Birdie senses it because her nipples harden through the silk of her dress. God she’s so hot. And all mine.

Ben fidgets uncomfortably. Ever since he walked in on me and Birdie going to town on our kitchen counter last year, he’s never been the same around us. It was his fault for not telling me he was coming back to pack his things. I smirk at the memory. It’s still funny to me, and I enjoy watching him squirm when Birdie and I show any type of PDA. Which is basically all the time.

“I better get back to my bride,” Ben winks. But I know he’s leaving because he’s afraid I’ll rip Birdie’s dress off right here and now. Which is tempting.

Once Ben is gone, Birdie throws her arms around my neck and presses her chest to mine. The bouquet lands on my back, making me shiver as one of the flowers scratches me through the fabric of my shirt.

“Enjoying the party?” she asks.

Instead of answering, I take her lips in a deep kiss, not caring that a lot of people are around. People that will probably take pictures of us with their cell phones and sell them to gossip rags. After twelve months of being Birdie’s boyfriend, I’ve gotten used to it. It sucks, but to have Birdie in my life is more important than my privacy. I’d give it up time and time again if it meant I got to hold her in my arms and kiss her silly whenever I want.

As our tongues duel, I let my hand explore the open back of her dress. Her soft skin has me dreaming up some new positions I’d like to try. Birdie lets out a quiet moan and my dick stands at attention. I have to pull back so we don’t make an even bigger scene. I don’t care about people taking pictures, but Wren and Ben wouldn’t like if we had sex in the middle of the dance floor while their parents and friends watched in horror.

“What do you say we go back to our room?” My breaths are heavy and hot against her cheek. If she says no, I’m at least getting a quicky in the bathroom.

She flutters her eyes at me, the color amplified by her dress and the darkness of her hair framing her round face. Even though I sometimes miss her natural blonde, Birdie can do whatever the hell she wants to her body and still look more than beautiful to me. I take a piece of it between my fingers as I cock a questioning brow at her.

“Is the sky blue?” she answers.

I laugh. “Do we need to say goodbye?” I look over to Ben and Wren who are locked in a sweet embrace on the dance floor. Birdie’s eyes follow mine and she smiles.

“I don’t think they’ll miss us. We’ve done all our bridal duties for the evening. Plus, Wren gave me permission to leave after I caught this thing.” Birdie unravels herself from me and holds the bouquet in her hands.

I look into my girl’s eyes. I try to see if there’s a subtle hint in them, that maybe she changed her mind about wanting to get married in the near future. We’d talked about it several times, but we always decided that we’d wait and get married when we felt it was a good time. If and when it made sense.
