“I can’t wait to see how sexy you look with it dripping down your legs. Get ready.” Leo snarls with desire, capturing my mouth hostage as he picks me up by my ass only to set me on my back. He kneels, digging his fingers into my ass cheeks while curling me up. I pant and moan, grabbing the blankets with each powerful thrust. His eyes never leave our bodies connecting. The way he holds me half-suspended, giving him the room to swing into me leaves me breathless. I scream in pleasure as his body knots with mine, the pressure more surprising than painful, bonding us together in the way I crave as an omega. The pleasure increases with a wave of pure ecstasy, his orgasm setting off mine, controlling me like his knot does. My body won’t stop pulsing until he releases me, the act mind-blowing and unlike anything I could have imagined.

He moans loudly, lying on top of me as he rocks, his weight comforting. I kiss him fervently, desperately. I can’t help it. It’s the only way to silence my need to scream my pleasure. To whimper at its intensity. How wild and out of control I feel riding this wave of bliss. I thought I knew what to expect from knotting with an alpha, but the reality of the experience is something I could’ve never fully prepared myself for.

“You’re doing so good, Scarlett,” Leo murmurs, breaking from my mouth. His words come softer, gentler, instead of the teasing alpha he started as. “Just ride with me through it.”

My vision shadows, heat filling me from between my legs, sending tingles over my skin. I can barely breathe from the pleasure, our orgasms intertwining, his hormones feeding mine in a never-ending wave that crests over and over again. Neither of us can pull apart, not that we’d want to, and the connection of this moment penetrates me on a soul-deep level. He truly is my alpha. It’s more than my growing feelings for him. It’s innate. Unending. Completely irrevocable.

Leo bites my neck hard enough to make me bleed, but it doesn’t hurt. The raw act of marking me solidifies our bond as mates. The world melts away as time passes, Leo’s body still locking me to him for what feels like an eternity of bliss.

Just when I feel as if I’ll never leave this hypnotic state, I gasp as the pressure releases me, stealing away the warmth and bliss exploding from my fading orgasm until I’m left whimpering beneath Leo, glistening with sweat, the heady scent of our passion consuming the room.

He envelops me in his arms, stroking his hand up and down my spine. “You’re so incredible. So strong and powerful. Let me draw us a bath, so we can soak for a bit. I only want you aching in a good way.”

I release a breath and snuggle my face to him, my body more relaxed than it has ever been. Kissing me softly, Leo brushes his lips across my skin in a way that eases the freefall from the high my body rides. And this is only the beginning.

Leo cuddles me long after we bathe, never taking his arms away when I drift to sleep. I only stir awake for a moment with the whisper of voices. But Leo keeps the world away.

He’ll always protect me.

He and our pack.

Forever.

Ms.Sandy:Hey,Dickasso, you missed class. Want my notes? I’ll leave them at Beach Brew for you.

My stomach twists at the text message, clearly not from Ms. Sandy. The last person I wanted to hear from was Chaz. He must’ve known that I blocked him and borrowed Ms. Sandy’s phone while she was doing something else. I consider ignoring him, but I’ve been so anxious since the confrontation between him and Leo. Jonah told me that it had been handled, but he’s obviously still attending class.

Ms. Sandy: Please talk to me. I’m sorry for what I did. I don’t know what got into me.

I squeeze my eyes shut, wishing the messages away. He’s persistent enough that he’ll continue until I respond. I wish I didn’t feel as if I had to. I can’t exactly block Ms. Sandy’s number either. I could tell her about Chaz stealing her phone, but I fear the repercussions. He might be apologizing now, but I don’t trust him.

Ms. Sandy: I want to start over. Just as classmates and friends. I got the message loud and clear that you are unavailable.

I push up from my bed and stroll into the hallway. Voices hum from downstairs. I meander down, padding quietly with my bare feet. A collection of scents greets me first before I catch sight of all of my alphas gathered around Adrian’s desk in his home office, the double doors wide-open. They excused all the household staff for a couple of days, giving us a chance to have privacy. They’ve also canceled all tour appointments, claiming that they were sick.

“I think we should wait it out. Sage obviously has an agenda, and she’s using her own mistake as an excuse. She wants more money out of us, trying to blackmail us by canceling our contract and claiming that we misrepresented ourselves. Obviously, we can fight that,” Adrian says, keeping his voice low.

“It could financially destroy us if she wins. The stress of it isn’t worth it. Not to mention Scarlett would have to return home during the hearing. Not happening.” Leo growls and smacks his hands on the desk. “We need to elope. It’s the only way to ensure Scarlett remains with us.”

“The only thing that could possibly solidify the situation would be if Scarlett was pregnant. Her mom knows her heat cycle. This is why she’s hitting us hard now. She can lie to any prospects about Scarlett ever being with us.” Ezra rests his head on his hands, leaning on the desk.

Jonah pushes to his feet. “She needs to stop using the suppressant cream. If she continues, she risks skipping her heat altogether. You know how that stuff is. Unpredictable. She can wear perfume instead.”

I blink a few times, realizing he’s right. I need to do whatever it takes. Mom is selfish enough to act on her threats, and I have to be considered used. She won’t be able to hide me away, especially with who my alphas are.

“I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves. I’d like to return to San Francisco and speak with all of Scarlett’s dads. I think the shock of it should have worn off by now. It’s the best way. They have the final say, and if we can prove how much Scarlett means to us and how happy she is, that will help ease the tension. We have to take the civil approach. Will you give me a day or two?” Dominic leans back in the chair. “If I’m not successful, then we will reconsider our options.”

Leo stretches his arms over his head with a groan. “If it comes to a fight, I’m ready to drop everything and run with Scarlett. I don’t give a fuck about the school or any fucking thing else.”

Sighing, Adrian frowns at Leo and looks at Dominic. “No one is running away. I’ll give you a day to see what you can do, Dom. You’re right about your approach. Civility first. Thanks for being more clearheaded than me in this moment. I feel as if I’m failing.”

Jonah drapes his arm over Adrian’s shoulders. “No one is failing. We have handled so much shit in our lives that I know we can get through this.”
