“You don’t understand, Davian. You were picked by Satan’s pack.” Tristan yells, dusting the snow off his body. “It fucked up your judgment. Not all of the packs are monsters. Eliana knows this.”

I lose it.

Swinging my arm, I punch him in the face, sending him stumbling backward. “No, you don’t understand. We’ve already made the decision. We have to get out of here. We have to leave this island.”

Tristan rubs his jaw. “It’s not—”

“I’m pregnant.” Eliana’s voice snaps through the air, striking me like a bolt of lightning. “We have to leave this island because I’m pregnant. I can’t stay here.”

My body cools even more, and I slowly shift her in my arms to meet her golden eyes.

“What?” Tristan asks.

Eliana wiggles in my arms until I set her on her feet. “That’s why I want to leave. I was pregnant before I changed. And I think...it’s hard to explain. Please, Tristan. We have to go.”

Damn. Does this change things? Not for me. I will still follow her anywhere.

And it looks like we’re about to find out if it’s the same case for Tristan.

A groan sounds from behind Tristan, and I flick my eyes and see a man standing nearby, holding his arms over his chest.

“Tristan, you found her. Thank the moon,” the man says, stepping closer. “I was worried. There are still others out here in the forest. Come on. Let’s get you back to the cabin. The rest of the pack can handle things out here.”

“Where’s Kellan?” Eliana asks, keeping her voice low. “You were supposed to be with him.”

“No, I’m supposed to be with you. He continued after Rocco, and I couldn’t stop him. Hugo is trailing him to ensure his safety.”

“What about the Sunset Pointe pack? Kellan said they were nearby. We have to find them. You promised.” Eliana shivers, her voice trembling.

The man remains expressionless. “We will, but it’s best not to worry about them right now. We should get you somewhere safe. Warm. You’re freezing.”

Eliana shakes her head. “No. I’m fine.”

“Now is not the time to argue. Tristan, grab her.” The man looks at me. “Don’t do anything stupid, pup. You’re welcome to come too. The Ice Meadow pack will take you in.”

I don’t know what to do or say or to even think. So, I look at Eliana.

One glance in her eyes shows me that she will only go with this man by force. I can’t let him.

“I said no, Slater. You’re not my alpha. You’ll not tell me what to do.” Eliana straightens her back, unfazed by the fact that she stands naked.

I step between her and the man, Slater. “You heard her. She’s going to stay and we’re going to find the rest of our pack.”

He lowers his eyebrows, hooding his green gaze. “I don’t think so.”

His comment sets me off.

My wolf begs to burst free, and I lunge at him, refusing to give in. I can’t. I’m stronger this way.

It’s the only way to ensure no one forces Eliana to do something against her will again. Even if it’s the last thing I ever do.

IbraceforSlaterto try to murder Davian, but he twists out of the way and locks his arms around Davian, spinning him to face outward. Davian fights, trying to break out of his hold. Slater stays strong and remains calm. I can’t help studying the corded muscles flexing on his arms.
