A yelp sounds through the air, and I nearly lose focus at Eliana’s scent wafting over me. She’s back. Chase brought her back.

“Please! Let me go. I hurt!” she shouts, her voice cutting deeply into my soul.

“No. If I let you go, you’ll do something you might regret.” Chase’s deep voice strikes my balls.

How dare he try to keep Eliana from us. She calls out, her instincts driving not only her wild but also me. Chase’s restraint and resistance proves just how worthy he is. I’ve never seen a pup like him resist his nature. It could be because Eliana already accepted his strength and allowed him the honor to knot, but I doubt it. It pushes me to fight harder to get Ravi to submit. That’s the only way I can finish this and take what I want.

“Kellan,” Eliana says, her voice a whimpering plea. “You can help me. I know I won’t regret being with you. I just—”

Chase cuts off Eliana, brushing his lips to hers, kissing her so deeply that she couldn’t speak if she wanted to. The act sets her off and she hums a moan, turning me on even more. I didn’t think such a thing was possible. My cock is so damn hard I could use it as a fucking bat to knock Ravi out. At this point, I just might. He still refuses to submit. And Eliana’s distraction is getting to me. I can feel my body and soul splitting into two, wanting to go separate ways. My body to her, but my soul wants to stay here and ensure that I get her permanently.

“Let me take you somewhere. They’re not the only ones who can help you. Please. We’ll take turns if we have to. We’ll get you through this.” Chase’s words drift to me, rattling my nerves. He plans on stealing her away.

“I don’t care. Do something. It’s getting worse. It’s this island. I just want to leave. I want to return to the human world. There has to be a way.” Eliana’s cry stabs sense into me, her desire to free herself of Shadow Moon as dominant as her forced need to mate.

I growl and release Ravi, turning my attention to them. Hearing her voice her true thoughts digs at me on a new level. Being her alpha means more than procreating and protecting her. It means listening, learning, and doing whatever I can for her to be happy. To fulfill her needs.

My cock doesn’t agree, but I manage to narrow my focus and suppress my urge to mount her how I want. How she begs with her body and scent. It’s my good senses that allow me to accept the agony burning through me, intensified by hers.

“Eliana, it’s going to be okay.” I try to step closer.

Sloan gets in the way, growling at me and flashing her fangs. Tristan bounds to her side, his hackles rising on his back. He’s turning against me. He’s turning against our pack. He should be by my side and helping me get to Eliana. But now? Fuck. What have I done? What is happening? It feels as if my world falls apart.

“Give her to me!” Ravi shouts, his voice ringing through the air in his human form. He can’t resist his beastly nature, proving how right I truly am about him. He should realize that this act doesn’t help any of us.

“No!” I shout, twisting on my feet.

Ravi swings his arm, clocking me in the gut. I grunt and shove my shoulder into him, sending him running back until he slams into a tree. He gasps and sinks his teeth into my shoulder, acting wild in his human form. It’s as if he lost his shit, his human reason being suppressed by his wolf.

I jerk with the pain swelling in my arm and to my fingers. I clutch my bleeding wound and blink away the shadows crowding my vision. Ravi dodges past me and toward Eliana once more. Chase loses his grip, nearly dropping her. Evander snatches her arm and stops her from hitting the ground. She thrashes and escapes his hold, morphing into the beautiful mahogany wolf I imagine by my side forever.

And then she spins and lifts her tail, whining with the urge the mage enchanted into her. I growl, flaring my nostrils, struggling to ignore her invite. She whimpers and backs up, kicking her paws and dodging out of Evander and Chase’s reach.

Kellan and Ravi lose complete control, charging toward her in a race of who can knot with her first, and a part of my humanity dies. The thought of either of them getting to her before me drives me batshit wild. My wolf explodes free, and I howl and launch from the ground, my muscles rippling as I make it over both wolves and feet away from Eliana.

“Make it stop. Please, I just want it to stop,” Eliana says, her soft voice whirling through my mind. “I can’t transform back. The pain is unbearable.”

My body falters, her voice igniting the competitive nature Ravi and Kellan’s presences instill in me. Spinning around, I gnash my teeth, snarling and challenging them to try to get past me. They’re not thinking clearly. Neither is Eliana. I’m not even sure the pups are with how they suddenly freeze and stare at each other.

“Please! Help me. Make it stop. Get me from this island. I’ll do anything.” Eliana drops to her belly, giving in to her wolf. “Theodore, please.”

My heart skips a beat at the mention of the mage, and I howl as I transform back into a man, her wolf submitting to her nature triggering me to shift again. I’ve never felt so out of control as I do in this moment. Confusion whirls through my mind.

Then I see him—Theodore. Magic crackles in his palms, and he strides closer, ignoring the rising growls escaping everyone apart from Eliana.

“See all the trouble you put yourself through, my pet? It could’ve been a lot easier had you just listened to me.” Theodore shifts his jaw, his features sharpening with his smile. “But I forgive you. Now, let me help you. You know how I feel about telepathy.” Twitching his fingers, he sends Eliana’s body arching with her forced transformation. Turning to the others, he does the same until everyone sits or stands in their human forms.

Rushing to Eliana, Chase scoops her up, spinning her to shield her body the best he can. Theodore clicks his tongue, silencing Ravi and Kellan.

“See? This is much better, isn’t it?” Theodore summons robes, his power striking a shockwave of discomfort through me. He messes up the gateways, and I can sense it. He shouldn’t be here. “As I warned you before, you’ve given up your one free chance for my help to leave. Don’t worry, though. I’m sure one of these alphas can pay the cost.”

The cost? What the fuck is he talking about?

“It won’t be much. Perhaps a territory...one of the ones you were going to keep for yourselves?” Theodore swivels and glances at me. “Whoever pays the price will be rewarded with a soul bond.”

Eliana opens and closes her mouth. “What? No. There has to be something else.”

“You can have Twilight Cove,” Kellan says, his voice deep and commanding.
