Page 102 of Desiring Them

I was snapped out of my thoughts when the waiter returned to our table, promptly removed our plates, then asked if we would be interested in dessert.

“You know, I was eyeing off the chocolate and raspberry roll you have in the cabinet over there.” Lou pointed to the glass cake cabinet by the cash register. “What do you think, Sienna? A piece of that with some coffee?”

“Sounds delightful. Hit us up, Mr. Waiter.”

The waiter smiled. “Coming right up.”

Lunch with Lou was exactly what I needed. It was awesome to have someone to talk to who was in the same situation as me, and even better for it to be my best friend. Given she was busy for the rest of the week, we decided to meet up at Harrods on the morning of the gala before she dashed off to another occasion with her guys.

“I’m going now,” I said flippantly as I waltzed past the front desk where Augustus was standing.

“Did you enjoy your lunch?”

I paused and turned back to him. “Yes, thank you. Compliments to the chef.”

“I shall pass them along.” He leaned his hands on the higher part of the counter. “That friend of yours seems delightful.”

I went into instant protective mode. “Hands off, Augustus. She’s already taken.”

“Hmm. What a pity. She wouldn’t be interested in one of my parties, then?”

“Your sex parties?” I asked.

I knew Lou wouldn’t be. She was too wrapped up in her guys to be interested in sexual play with anyone else.

“No.” He flashed me a devilish smile, then said, “No. The one I’m throwing for New Year’s Eve. Will she still be here?”

I stepped toward him, relieved he was discussing a regular party for once. “Yes. I’m sure she’d be happy to come along with her men.”

“Men?”Augustus tapped his fingernail on the counter.“I see. I’m certain they’ll fit right in.”

And there he was, sinking back into depravity again. “How come I’m only hearing about this New Year’s Eve party now?”

“Because the thought literally just crossed my mind.” He flashed me a cheeky smile.

I rested my purse on the desk. “Won’t people already have plans?”

“So?” He scoffed. “I’m sure plenty will choose to come to mine. They know how fun my events are.”

“Yes, you do know how to throw aparty. I’ll give you that.” I sighed.

“Thank you.”

I watched him fill in an online form. “What are you doing right now?”

“Working.”

I decided to ditch the bitch in me and take a chance on him. “Well, when you’re done there, you want to go for a walk in the park down the road?”

Augustus paused and scrunched his face up at me. “Whatever for?”

I did my best to ignore the disgusted tone in his voice. “Because it would be nice, don’t you think? Us spending some time alone together?”

“I’m quite busy today, I’m afraid. I’ve got three more hotels around the city to visit before I’m done here. Here’s a thought, though.” He graced me with one of his dirty smiles. “You could always ride in my car with me. My drivers are discreet, upon pain of a lawsuit.”

I pulled back from the counter and folded my arms firmly across my chest. “I want to go on a date with you, Augustus.”

Augustus slammed his hands down on the shiny surface of the counter and whispered violently at me, “In case youhaven’tgotten the message, Sienna, I don’t date the women I fuck, oranyone, for that matter.Get… it… through… your… head.I’ve told you before, Idon’tdo forevers. Iwillnottell you again.”I didn’t think it was possible for someone to yell through gritted teeth, but he proved me wrong.
